What ever happened...

Post » Sun Feb 23, 2014 6:26 am

The dwarves(dwemer) are all gone and probably wont return but if they do it wont be like they were before because they are now the skin of numidium so they wont walk the land again.

They aren't a small race like the typical dwarves are in other games they were as tall as the altmer if i remember correctly from lore.

If you played morrowind you would see in their ruins ash piles which suggests they got vaporised and there is even ghosts floating about so basically their race is dead and gone.

In skyrim you see the guy mess around with keening from morrowind and he dissappears in a light which is what happened to the dwarves.

You won't see them. They vanished in the 1st era and the game is set in the second era. By the 4th era it's still a mystery people argue about. Seeing one would be a BIG deal and surely someone would hear about it, especially is thousands of people in the second era had seen one.

I don't see the Dwemer's fate ever being confirmed factually in any Elder scrolls game. It's far better to leave them as a mystery for people to discuss, think about and form opinions on what happened based on the texts found in the games (which like real life also show bias or opinion of the 'writer').

A lot of great responses from you all. I agree with the earlier poster that said they wanted to see snow elves as well. I think that would be a great addition eventually.

Even in the ESO world they were gone for a long time, bringing them back would ruin the story line for morrowing up to skyrim, wouldn't make much sense, unless they go with the classical "travel back in time" sort of thing, I hope they won't though and reserve the dwemer history line for another TES game, possibly tes 6.

I would absolutely Love to see the dwemer for a first time! ^^

That is my feeling as well. It is more fun to use one's own mind eye to figure out what happen to them then being told. Besides, ESO is 1000 years before other TES games and that will be hard on lore to have them show up doing this time frame.

Yep.

Dwarves are elves.

Orcs are elves.

One of the human races is half-elf.

Elves are elves.

Elves are everything.

yeah, though the most popular and believed theory on their disappearance is that kraegnacs experiment backfired and bound the souls of all dwemer in existence to the nearest tower, which happened to be the numidium. and since the numidium was destroyed.. well.

The only time it would make any lore sense to include any Dwemer depends on the year Yagrum Bagarn returned to Nirn

I find attempts at humor fail in the face of the Lore Nazis on these boards.

This would've true except were in E2 of 4 (?) so the lore is already wrote before us you can't just go chucking Dwemer in now for TESO and if bit effect the lore post E2.

We won't be seeing them. Only the marvellous constructs left behind.

One was left behind as he was in an Oblivion plane or something.
He did not know that happened with them himself.

No the Dwemer (dwarfs) are gone, only one survived their disappearance and he was in the game Morrowind and only because he was out traveling the realms of Oblivion when the accident happened.

The Snow Elves are now the Falmer who were enslaved by the dwemer at the time of ESO they are no more than savage animals living underground. Their appearance in Skyrim is still shrouded in myths and legends with the common folk as boogymen rather than the Falmer. Those Snow Elves that survived are in hiding because they are frightened of the Nords and wish to preserve what is left of their race.

I would rather leave these races as mystery and only use them as a back drop to explore their ruins and their lore. The world of Tamriel needs to have some mystery to make it a compelling place to explore, once everything is known the world becomes dull and lifeless with no reason to step out of your front door.
