What ever happened...

Post » Sun Feb 23, 2014 2:06 am

So someone help me out with the lore aspect. I've played Skyrim, Oblivion, and Morrowind and each mention the dwarves (forget the ESO name for them off the top of my head) but no sightings of them other than their left behind relics and lore. Anyone think they will make an appearance in future expansions? What happened LORE-wise that removed them from this world?

The actual lore behind the disappearance of the Dwemer is very involved, but the short version is:

They attempted to achieve divinity by using the Heart of Lorkhan and building the Numidium, or Walk-Brass Tower. When they put this plan into action, every single Dwemer disappeared in an instant (not entirely true but close enough). Exactly what happened to them is unknown, although there are many theories.

I doubt it. They (Dwemer) didn't just go on holiday, they were wiped out of existence, leaving only their constructs behind.

If they bring them back, it would throw the lore out of whack from ES 3,4 and 5, because there is no mention of them being seen since their disappearance.

No they wont.

Edit: to make myself more clear, Since there have been no dwemer sightings in any of the games previous to tes except 1 small bump in and those games where in an era after what eso will be so there can not be a dwemer expansion, unless they change everything dramtically.

You've played Morrowind and you Say "no sightings of them" You never went to Tel Fyr, Did Tribunals main quest or delved into Dwemer ruins did you. you never specified if they were screwed with Corpus or ghosts

Played Morrowind a long time ago so fuzzy on the main story line. Oblivion and Skyrim more recently. I've seen the Dwemer ruins and the like. Reminded me of the Falmer story line where we all thought they were totally wiped out, only to have one of them as the whole architect behind the Dawnguard expansion storyline that put the "prophecy" into place. Was interested in if that was a workable story line expansion to introduce them later was all.

The Dwemer disappeared before the events of TESO, so we won't be seeing any dwarves. I hope so anyways, I would hate to see the lore twisted any more O.o

However....I think it would be pretty awesome to have a cameo of Yagrum Bagarn :D

In the world of make believe anything can happen people just need to use their imaginations. People speak of lore as facts this so far from truth its unbinding all of the stories are someones make believe its a made up scenario that if the writers decide to make believe they found a portal to where the Dwemer now exist but only few know about so it was never recorded who are you or I to say lol

Am I the only person that doesn't want to see them in future games? I mean they are more interesting with the mystery for sure, and if they come back they will also bring back they're technology. and since they had blueprints for guns and flying ships, some of which can be seen in morrowind, this entire series would turn into a steampunk game pretty quickly. they're better off dead.

Isn't the term "dwarf" a misnomer? I don't believe they were that much shorter than humans or their other elven kin.

Yes, they are not the usual dwarves that people think. They are elves (or mer) if you prefer. They are not half/short height humanoid.

I know Dark evil Dwarves need some of them to to liven up the party. I mean serioiusly how can you have an MMO with out something to punt? There are no small races in TESO merely an oversight I hope

Well i think all the elves are evil enough for TESO don't you? :P. I guess ES is more elves/men etc and having dwarves well hey may as well call itself middle earth lol. Wouldn't mind to see dwarves mind :P

You are not the only one. I hope they are gone for good.

I do want to see more Snow Elves, though. I was ecstatic to see two of them on Skyrim. I know it is unlikely, Galebor can very well be the last of them, but I can always hope that there are more of them. Too bad the next TES game won't be in Skyrim, so I will probably never know if Galebor really is the last one.
