I thought I was going to see alot more NPC's "going about their daily routines".
More travelers on the roads (not meaning bandits).

Didn't the Prima guide say there's quests that give extra perk points as rewards? I haven't seen any of those.

Well it also says we can craft arrows, but I can't even at Smithing +100. The sad truth is I like Skyrim more then Oblivion. But IMHO Todd did nothing more then spewing out PR B.S. at everyone in those videos from E3 and others. Even more then he did for Oblivion.

The whole situation bugs me after what Atari pulled with Test Drive Unlimited 2. Half finished game released, people up in arms, hackers in the games within days, Atari firing most of the Eden staff over it......and alot of their good mods quit the forums after awhile. Because the company was basically telling them to lie and B.S. the fans over fixes that were never going to happen. Now it seems Bethesda is following this trend..... :(

No, he's talking about the http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Vampire. But they are lore. I guess Beth thought they would be too hard to implement.

I think met one as a random encounter yesterday (on level 42), i'm pretty sure he was named "Volkihar Vampire". Met him on the random encounter spot on the road just east of Whiterun. He was fighting two Vigilants of Stendarr and killed them easily. Killed me too easily.

Checked the link and really all it said was there, probably not as effectively implemented as it hinted it would be, but thats advertising. Every company does it. The goal is to give you a small taste and let your imagination run riot.

I've seen a dragon smack a guard into a tree at 100 mph...was freaking awesome, but its only happened once in about 100 hours so I can understand why some haven't seen it.

Ok this has happened to me, and I kid you not.

Been challenged by a mage in winterhold town after starting the mage guild guild main quests.
Seen a dragon swoop down and pick up a fricking mammoth and drop it to it's death.
Seen 2 dragons fighting.
Seen warmaidens (where I lvl'd up smithing) fluctuate gold-sometimes they have 900, sometimes as much as 1300. Sometimes shops have 500 gold sometimes 750.
Say I go to warmaiden's and they have 3 Iron ingots, I buy them all. Next time I go to them they have a big stock of Iron ingots. Try it yourself, it may have been just coincidence, but buy all their stock of something rare (not swords or something though that might work too, but "raw" ingredients such as ingots or ore), then go back there later on when stocks are replenished and see if they have surplus of the rare items you bought. Supply and demand?

I thought we were suppose to be able to change the "economy" in the game, but so far I don't see it. Either I am doing it wrong, or it's not in the game. Another thing I rememeber Todd Howard was saying that arrows are suppose to be scarce and we should treat them like gold. Well mabye because I don't use my bow much, but I have plenty of arrows and I don't see no shortage of them at all. I have plenty of arrows and think even if I use it as my primary weapon, I will never run out.

So what else was suppose to be in the game but is not? Maybe people have the answers for as to why it's not in the game. I know there is suppose to be alot more in Skyrim but for the moment can't recall what was suppose to be in the game but is not.

Has anyone tried selling a hundred sets of hide armor to a merchant and then checked to see how the price of hide armor is affected (and done so while allowing for price drops effected by improvments in speechcraft)? Has anyone taken detailed notes of the kinds and costs of goods in a settlement and in nearby cities, and then tried exhausting the lumber supply at a lumber yard, and then gone around and taken further notes on the kinds and costs of goods available, and then compared notes? And then done it again somewhere else, or with some other resource? Noticing economic flucuations requires evidence. Some players probably don't know how to collect such evidence, and most of those who do wouldn't even bother. I recommend laziness for now. Wait to see what modders uncover in the creation kit.

The bow is my primary weapon. I have more gold than arrows, and I am more hesitant about wasting arrows than I am about wasting gold. Arrows haven't felt scarce to me yet, but they do feel precious. Whether that feeling is based on fact or is just self-deception is something I can't answer yet. I have never run out of arrows, but I have run out of kinds of arrows. I scrounge for them after every fight, and am bothered when I fail to recover one.

the dynamic economy is a definite one that is missing.

That would be Alduin; it does happen on a couple of occasions but all of them seem scripted... it certainly doesn't seem to happen dynamically like Todd Howard claimed at E3.

It does, i have seen it a few times. Random dragon encounter in Riverwood, that Blacksmiths wife got picked up by the dragon, and flung into her own house.

Although the dragon had landed, i haven't seen a dragon swoop down and pick up an NPC/enemy in its mouth like the giant scene in the video.

That's very true. I try to use my bow as primary weapon and I also share half of my arrows with Lydia. At level 20 I still have over 200 arrows!

what i want to know is what happened to the good voice actors i rather liked arvel the swift having a gravelly voice also the arvel the swift voice from the e3 demo was more convincing he actually sounded like he was in distress rather then the current voice which essentially sounds like "ahhhh oh no ahh the spiders gonna get me ahhh get me out of here.....ahhh......so when do i get paid?" and lets not forget the big difference in the fus ro dah from the trailer and the actual shout in game it went fro FUS RO DAH!!! which sounded great to FUS!.............................................RODAH! which doesnt sound all that great. not to mention all the human races sound the same with this shout and for whatever reason argonians use the exact same voice the humans do. and the in game male argonians do not sound reptillian in any way they sound far to human. why cant bethesda not hire anyone they know they wont keep i swear false advertisemant will be there undoing.

I think we have to be a bit more reasonable here and Beth more cautious.
A lot of things are bound to changre through development. Things get tested for balance sake. Some stick around, others don't.
If we are going to hold Todd to every single word he ever said prior to launch, you do know what's going to happen don't you?

He shan't be sharing a word on TES VI before it's actually out and all we'll have to digest will be Pete's musings.
Don't know about you, I usually enjoy listening to Todd.

Has any famous (well... can't be famous without a reputation system and Skyrim doesn't really have that...) and powerful mage actually been challenged to a duel by another mage, yet? That was a small, early (believe it was said in the January edition of GameInformer) detail said to be in the game.

once in whiterun....only time though....was in hide armor odd.....pwned him

For arrows it depends on how you look at it.

Arrows in general you'll find tons of, but they'll be nearly all the weaker (7-10 damage) ones. Those sixy Glass, Ebony and Dadric arrows (18-24 damage) will be in short supply without exploit abuse.
Depends where you go, I know a good supply of dwarven arrows without exploit.

IT doesn't have to be "anime" style...

AT least in NG or DMC enemies actually react to getting hit...

Maybe a better example is Dark Souls which has a very similar combat style but is about 39240832905832590 times more satisfying.

Everytime my Claymore in Dark Souls hits something, I can FEEL the claymore dishing out the pain.

In skyrim, when I slash with my Daedric Mace... the bandit stands there swinging at me like he was tickled with a feather.

I wouldn't mind so much if combat wasn't like 100% of the game... lol?

Totally get what you are saying. WHen i started combat in game I was thining, wth, is this 1995?
Felt like me and a bandit were just standing there hitting each other with paintbrushes

The only thing I wonder about was the ability to have shields in the right hand. I remember an interview saying that ANYTHING could be in either hand, and now my poor lefty character is completely unable to block...even when I've only got one sword and nothing in the other hand, my RT will do a punch, not a block. And lefties don't sem to have the ability to do finishers too...

Otherwise, I'm not missing much. I generally don't try to sabotage economies, so that's a non-issue for me. The dragons are ok...I did get the finisher from one once and that was awesome.

It's a random finisher. Just like where the dragon can bite you, pick you up, and throw you around like a ragdoll for a finisher.

Aside from the fact that arrows are very common (even more than in Oblivion it seems), I thought that archery as a whole was supposed to have been revamped and inspired by a mod from Oblivion. It's been a while since I played as an archer in Oblivion, but archery doesn't really feel any different (at least not in a major way). I do love archery as it is so I don't really mind, but I was curious to see the changes after hearing about them.

The earlier posts about things in the Prima guide but not in the game reminds me of how much earlier than the game is released is Prima given a working copy (How else would it be available on release day??!?).

There are always changes between what's in the guides and what is released. My best guess is because some of the things mentioned may have been buggy and taken out.

Overhype. I dont understand how they get away with this every time.

Of all the things promised only a very few seem to be there. I've barely noticed the radiant story, the cities are tiny instead of big, cant affect economy, arrows are ridiculously easy to come by, dragons definitely dont pick up giants, theres no dynamic snow and plenty of other things.

Well at least its not as bad as Oblivion's overhype.
