I seriously doubt it will be absolutely impossible to manually add mods to the console games, but there are a few possible issues (that could also have workarounds).

1) Console manufacturers could somehow check what mods are scheduled to load against what is available for valid download (a messy process to say the least). What a console manufacturer does with the knowledge that your game is running non-sanctioned mods is entirely another topic (could range from filtering out the mods to banning your on-line account).

2) The tools provided to generate mods would not allow for any mods to be run on the console version code without some sort of conversion (that is done when the mod is oked and added to the allowed mod download lists). Certainly this conversion could be reverse engineered and possibly exist outside the formal vetting process, but it would be another layer of "protection" to prevent unwanted mods from existing on the consoles.

3) They may not care if you circumvent the mod methods they put in place, but seeing how a youtube video of six mods running on Xbox One version of the game would potentially play out in the media, I kind of doubt this is going to happen.

At the very least, Bethesda would have to be aware if any of the above were bieng planned and in some way be complict with them. It's difficult to say what a Publisher / Developer would be willing to compromise to get a game on a specific console (a HUGE revenue boost in game sales).

I just want quest, companion, building, and clothing mods, I could care less about the nudity mods. Besides, we don't even need nudity mods.

I am happy with weapons, armor, companions, locations, etc... I hate all the smuty stuff I have to sort through ti get to it though.

Part of the reason Paid-For Modding for Skyrim was abandoned within a day was people flooded the service with inane mods at ludicrous pricing.

I can't believe this thread has got the attention it has for such a ridiculous idea. advlt content modders aren't stupid and most likely the vast majority wouldn't bother to waste their time trying to do something like uploading it when they know it will get filtered out. When you make a mod and upload it you want exposure, you want people to see you mod for what it is and you would like them to download it, not watch it get taken down 5 seconds after it's posted up. You might get a few idiots who would try it for a laugh but the vast majority of modders are going to stick to the rules when it comes to uploading content for the console. I've created advlt mods and innocent mods, the mods I upload for the consoles will be the innocent ones so your question is silly because there's at least one modder who will be uploading allowable content.

and here i was starting to think the forum's sense of humor had disappeared in my absence! i bet there will be a flood of nvde mods on Xbox One either way, even if Microsoft wants to own your console after you buy it, the home brew scene is still working away after-all! i dont really keep up with ps4 much, but i imagine its the same story

That depends on one's view of advlt content mods.

The technical knowledge to create advlt content is often greater than other mods, many require scripting, skeleton replacement, re-rigging, animation, etc.

(if you missed it, Microsoft and Sony have repeatedly stated that they will not licence a game for there system that is rated AO)

I'm confused, The Witcher 3 and Dragon Age: Inquisition are both rated M, both have nudity, and both available for consoles.
