Since they'll be going through vetting... I don't think there will be any "sneaking" in of anything. So yes, if every modder out there put nudity in their mods, there'd be no mods.
That's child's logic there.
They don't HAVE TO host mods for the consoles. Microsoft is choosing to do so. If Mod authors for Consoles decide to be immature about it and flood the Console Mod scene with nvde mods and attempted nvde mods...Microsoft can easily shut the entire service down. Bethesda would get behind and push, considering nvde Mods would certainly re-evaluate the game's rating.
Seriously, if people are that desperate to look at pixelated naughty bits, there's plenty of places already on the web to cater to that fascination.
The Mysterious Stranger will pay the offending modders an unwelcomed visit.
Don't use "but they said so!" logic lol. Yes, they said mods will come to Xbox One, but if EVERY single mod (which I am sure will be well over a couple thousand) contained nudity then no, they wouldn't get placed on Xbox One. But the chances of every single mod containing straight up nudity, even if the mod doesn't focus on character retextures, are slim to none. I wouldn't be worried.
Also, it wouldn't go amiss to use some common sense instead of feeling the need to have other people validate what you were thinking - especially if it can be answered by using basic common sense. No offence!
Regards, sir.
Possibly offtopic here... That's the microsoft host side of it. Can't you download and install mods manually on eg. xbox One and ps?
Smack em in a directory, possibly alter a file a little and then load them? Or is it a boatload of cracking of gamesystem files?
Just curious on, what the newest consoles allow for... Haven't owned one since nes.
you cant get to the files directory
thats why having mods on console was huge for Xbox at E3 and will probably net them more sales
Arf, I kinda assumed they had basic filemanagement these days. -..-
Well modding is always filtered because of obvious reasons, but it is especially filtered after the games initial release so I highly doubt any kind of nudity will be allowed in there to be honest.
It would be more of "Nice job messing it up, now you get none"
Their comment about bringing mods to consoles, simply implies they will be working with the console companies to ensure an infrastructure is in place to deliver & use mods.
And if you want them to be literal, sure. They could make 2 mods.. one moves your starting position a little to the left, another a little to the right.. voila.. Mods (plural), are now available as promised.
As for nudity.. I think most of the world is a little to uptight about nudity. If it's a concern they should really just use the consoles parental features to restrict download & tag mods with nudity as advlt. *shrug* but that's just my two caps.
What if ...
I hate this attention seeking titles are we here in a kindergarden?
We'll get mods. It's not like everybody sticks nudity in their mods. Like I said in another thread, What we probably won't see on console is the bigger mods. Mods that require outside scripting resources and things like that. What we'll probably get rather quickly.. outfit and weapon re-skins, hairstyles, eye color replacements. Things of that nature. Bigger mods take time and testing.. How fast we'll get them will depend on whether or not they allow Alpha/Beta mods on console. I'm thinking they will not.
Also, yeah, I'm sure they'll make some in house "mods" themselves simply to show that the tool kit and the modding system works.
Being a genocidal maniac and a pervert are 2 different things my friend.
