What >exactly< do the base stats do?

Hey,

I looked for the answer to my question online but to my surprise I couldnt find anyone who asked this before:

What does each rank of Strength, Perception, Endurance [...] do exactly, besides unlocking perks?

The descriptions are very vague and often too vague to allow proper decision-making.

My current situation, I want to know what Agility does:

"Agility is a measure of your overall finesse and reflexes. It affects the number of Action Points in V.A.T.S and your ability to sneak."

How does it affect my ability to sneak? Does it make me harder to detect? If so: By what percentage?

Strength- give you a higher carry limit and you better at melee I believe.

Perception- allows you to see enemies farther back.

Endurance- give you more HP.

Charisma- make speech checks easier.

Intelligence -allow you to level faster.

Agility- give you more action points.

Luck-Your critical hit meter fill faster and it's easier to find the best loot and ammo.

Vague? maybe if you don't know how to read. The special stats are spelled out in plain english on what they do, what is so vague about it?

I think he wants numbers, not descriptions.

I'd be curious to know about this too.

All I've seen so far on Reddit is that each rank of INT increases XP gained by 3.33%

The fact that there are no exact numbers. He wants to know exactly how much carry weight a point in Strength gets you, or how much AP you get for a point in Agility. He's asking for us to clear up the game's vague descriptions.

Exactly, I want numbers. Because without them I wont know whether or not it actually makes sense to level up the base stats.

I would think that the Base stats would be secondary to using SPECIAL points to gain access to the perks you want to support your playstyle.
