What exactly is the Stonewall bug?

Post » Fri Jun 25, 2010 9:07 am

So I've heard that Stonewall is bugged. According to the Fallout Wiki, it only applies the +5 DT when the PLAYER has a melee/unarmed weapon instead of when the ENEMY is using a melee/unarmed weapon.

Can anybody verify this by testing in-game?

If this is true, doesn't it make the perk MORE useful to melee/unarmed characters since even bullets will deal less damage as long as a melee/unarmed weapon is equipped?

And does the completely inability to get knocked down actually work? This seems useful when facing enemies armed with explosives (e.g., taking on a hangar full of Boomers).

Stonewall does give an extra 5 DT while the player has a melee weapon equiped. It is actually a good bug for the player. Not sure aout the knockdown effect.

Hit the Deck has a similar bug, cept with a 50% increase in DT whenever equipping an explosive.

^^ No, hit the deck does not work. period, at least on the PC. Have you actually verified it does something? If in the geck you switch Hit the Deck to an adder instead of mult then it works just like Stonewall. But as is it does nothing.

....Aren't you the EXACT person who argued to me that HA is better than Light Armor for an explosives-using player BECAUSE of Hit the Deck? Am I mistaken?

Entry Point probably messed up then. The conditions are clear as day, saying that the player gets the bonus when they equip an explosive.

Man, they really need to release a G.E.C.K that allows to change the target function from just 'subject', which is the player. Now if it was 'Target', then that's just a quick change in the good old conditions to get it working.

I already gave up on Hit the Deck because of the completely null effect that many users are referencing. If anybody can prove otherwise I'd love to hear it!

Also, I would still like to know if anybody has verified that the knockdown-prevention effect of Stonewall actually works.

No, even though I did post in that thread. Was just too lazy to post a response to the Hit the Deck claim. I believe my exact response was - Light Armor is Ugly.
