To what extend do you justify the Fortify Restoration loop?

Post » Sat Feb 08, 2014 8:40 am

Well, I'm not saying we all use it, but it would be fair to say that most of us use It. It would be hypocritical of me to say that i don't use, because i do. But to what extend do you justify the Fortify-Restoration glitch/loop or whatever you want to call it. Nobody talks about it, so maybe its time to set the record straight.

Restoration glitch is only cheating if you use it that way. Its the only useful glitch console players have.

Bethesda wouldn't patch it since they stopped on Skyrim already.

Couldn't really care about either one of these.

I don't use the Resto loop personally, but it can do some cool things. Like increasing unarmed damage.

As I'm on the xbox, of course I would ideally like another update, but it won't happen,

I've never used it, but I want it to remain an option on the table. I feel that if someone really likes a weak weapon, say the Steel Dagger, that the option should be there for them to smith it to be the ultimate weapon. I guess you can probably console it or CK it, I've never checked it out, but one could conceivably RP it off in-game as taking great inspiration from a particular event, for example your wedding night, something like that. Edited: Heh, I forget about our console friends, sorry...yes, it's an excellent tool for them.

I don't care if there are any more patches. Waiting for TESO myself, just marking time in Skyrim.

When I was on console, I would use the restoration loop to make wuuthrad a real axe (On higher levels...the axe svcks)

OR, for magicka reduction cost.

Console users should have gotten one more patch tho.

I'm only familiar with it from seeing it on these boards. I don't really care, and if people wan't to exploit it that's up to them, it's they're game. Personally i don't do use such extreme things to make the game easy, so the only person they're cheating is themselves.

I'm relatively new to the loop. I wouldn't use it to make my characters god-like by any means. I might use it for extra carry weight. But mainly its to boost my magika regen.

My thoughts exactly. I never use it now as I simply do not need it anymore. But when I was on consoles 2 years ago, I needed it to make some permanent Dremora and summoned Dragon Priest thralls.

I see no reason to take it away. Of course I get genuinely annoyed by all the "game so easy, my legendary dragon sword does 2472t32q7 damage lolololol Legendary soo eazy!!!" posts, but whatever. I think it should be kept for those who can use it in moderation and balance the game to their personal preferences.

I don't use it because it requires grinding alchemy and enchanting to 100 which would kill the fun of that character long before I'm granted god status.

To what extent do I justify using it?

I'm the messiah of an entire culture, Shouts are hilariously nerfed in-game unless console'd, why not have no magicka cost and hilariously overpowered weapons?

I've never used it, don't need any exploits. And just because the OP uses it doesn't mean that "most people use it". I suspect most people don't bother with it. It just isn't necessary for building a good character and since you don't have to use an exploit it doesn't need to be fixed. If they did a final patch and they won't, it should fix the lip-sync bug and the quests that are stil broken if you click on a dead body before talking to the poor man's spouse to get the quest, or the atronach stone causing the "Wolf Queen Awakened" quest to crash in the Lightning Chamber. That's my opinion anyway.

To me it's no different than the PC users that make the game more to their liking. Being that I play on PS3, this is the closest thing to a mod I'm going to get.

Never actually used the restoration loop glitch, but I have considered using it for a Shout heavy character in the future. Just to see what it is like.

There was absolutely no sarcasm in my comment. You have made an assumption about what "most of us do" based upon what some people do. I don't appreciate your assumptions.

I've used it before for the infinite shouts glitch. Great fun. I don't use it any more, but it shouldn't be fixed. If they did any patches, it should be for stuff that actually needs fixing. I don't care if they give us one though. Skyrim by now is what it is.

I don't use it and probably never will(granted I'm new to Skyrim). If other people do, good for them. It seems some people do enjoy it and that doesn't affect me in any way, so I don't wish it patched.

Exactly what is there to 'justify' - Skyrim's single player so what one person does in their game doesn't affect anybody else.

Think it's cheating and refuse to use it ? Fine.

Think it's a fantastic way to enhance you character and use it all the time ? Also fine.

Run a Search and you'll find plenty of threads about it.
