Simple question what factions army would you join a grunt as? Can be anything from the glorious NCR to the Westside Militia.

In New Vegas? I'd join up with House (if he'd let me) otherwise I'd probably not join a military since I don't much care for the other alternatives.

I like the idea of joining House...but if I couldn't do that, then probably NCR...BoS would be cool, except they just sit in their bunkers all day and I'm not evil enough for Legion...I'm the diet coke of evil, just 1 calorie, not that evil :tongue:

None. I dislike all the factions in New Vegas.

NCR is inefficient. As a game that takes place in the Mojave I make my decisions based on what I see in Mojave. Just because Shady Sands is a thriving community doesn't mean the Mojave will be better of under NCR. In fact the way I see it the only thing that will change under NCR control is the the Strip loses its glamor and Followers get sent away.
House cares only for himself. He claims that he wants to restore pre-war glory of Vegas but he just lights up the Strip and leaves it at that. Only a very, very small percentage of population gets something off it. House is a status quo candidate and will provide absolutely no change for the Mojave.
Legion is just horrible. Legion's ability to pass rule over next generations is dubious at best. The odds are that the Legion will become a warring warband after Caesar eventually dies, and will fight on and on until it just crumbles down. It might also fall into anarchy, who knows. The Legion is an entirely evil choice for a player that wants to mass murder folks just to feel the change. I'm not one of those. Plus I hate how Legion treats its women.
Independent is the most insecure faction. It has the most potential in making the Mojave a better place for its inhabitants but anarchy led by a barely sentient AI is not good when the Legion and NCR will eventually come back for revenge. I doubt that even the securitrons can maintain a two front war at worst. Independent is the best short-term faction, but who will take over when the Courier dies?
The Brotherhood is dying. There is not much to say in that. I would not want to live in the Brotherhood just to see it die because of ignorance.
Various town militas are not my choice since the pay is probably horrible and I will not gain anything by it. I think that militia stuff is a citizen's duty and everyone just takes guard duty from time to time. If I live somewhere I defend it but I won't deliberately join a militia somewhere.
Raiders and Criminals are a no-no by default.

That said the only faction I'd join as a GRUNT is NCR because I would have odds of becoming recommissioned to MP duty somewhere deep in California

I would be a mercenary for hire! Best pay.

My favorite character is helping Caesar's Legion.

Whoa buddy, calm down. It's not like me, personally, believe in every thing the Legion stands for. It's my character who has chosen to join the Legion. You know... roleplay. I would try not to judge people based on their actions in game Snapple, this and calling Pistolero a liberal because he doesn't kill often/ carelessly is pretty harsh.

The Legion get my support. Why? Do I think that the Legion are the best choice for the wasteland? :laugh: do I [censored]. Point is that I don't want a good choice for the wasteland, the wasteland can go die for all I care. The only thing I want is retribution for my dead. NCR and Brotherhood have things to answer for and debts that won't be paid until both organisations no longer exist and as many of either faction are dead. That's just the way I role.

I'd be happy to hear about a country thats citizens are better off then the average Canadian citizen.

Not going to say, forum rules, etc etc. I'd be more than happy to state my opinions over PMs. Suffice it to say, I have a few problems with 'democracies', but not looking for debate.

The Legion makes no false claims to spread democracy...The Legion is a totalitarian dictatorship and proud of it. They dont lie, they dont make false claims. They are who they are and if you dont like it, well...seeya on the cross!

That stated I would join the Legion. Always have loved Roman history, I find it facinating..They are also not weak and dependant on things that do make you weak in the long run..(which is one thing I dont get with the Legion considering the Roman Empire and Rome especially was known for its vices, wine, opium, ect. and at the time, the Romans were the most tech savy civilization in the world who were always looking for new better ways of doing things) nevertheless, the Legion would be my first choice. Most likely followed by a not so dying BoS group
