Thanks!
In beta it seemed the DC were the least played (at least according to cyrodiil) & and the AD were the most populated. Who knows how that will be come launch, but i would think it might be pretty close to what we saw in beta. imo
Hmm I wanted to be with the little guys but bleh, I want khajiit story stuff.
Way less rewarding to win when you just zerg everyone.
Well you will not have a hard time winning, as during the beta the AD had a nasty habbit of roflstomping eeverything in there path and confining EP and DC to like just 2 keeps outside the scroll wall.
during beta AD and EP were high pop compared to DC, but i think on release EP will be the underdogs and DC and AD will be the high pop.
Yeah I think putting the 3 most favored races on one team may have been a mistake. I always play elves in fantasy games (and Dark Elves don’t count in this game for me as the Males are homely) but will need to switch it up as I think the boredom of being on the prema win team will lead to me not wanting to play. I suppose I can Just roll an Elf in EP since I preordered.
EP all the way cause thier quest givers are not so anoying. Eh well now that I think about it sometimes they are.
Census says they're all dead even: https://tesocensus.info/?results
However, there are a few heavy hitters in gaming media pushing everyone toward AD, so expect that to be far heavier than the other two.
That said, my campaign had everyone roflstomping AD, despite higher population. So a lot of it is about skill and organization as much as numbers.
The devs have said that they'll have ways of making up for population problems in PvP. Not exactly sure what that means, myself.
I kind of want to lean torwards the underdogs, but then again i go to eso's website, and read the discriptions of each alliance, and i always lean torwards ebonheart pact due to this:
DC's king:" High King Emeric is a Breton merchant lord whose shrewd policies and masterful diplomacy earned him the trust of the Kings of High Rock"
That just makes me feel like the king is setting a bunch of strict rules, to where if you breathe wrong, you will be in jail or beheaded.
ADs queen: "Queen Ayrenn is intelligent and honorable, with a genuine humility rarely seen among her people but she is also a decisive leader with a stubborn streak"
I have no problem following woman as my queen, but the simple fact that shes on a stubborn streak, shows me that it sounds like we have a spoiled little brat as the queen, and not a noble strong willed woman.
EB's King: (although hes only acting, and not the high king, as there is no high king per say) "Jorunn, of Eastern Skyrim, is acting High King of the Great Moot, but he does not rule absolutely. His decisions must be ratified by all three races in a unique form of governance called The Great Moot."
Ebonheart pact sounds like the only alliance who seems to come together as a whole, instead of following some leader whos a stubborn little girl, or even a king who thinks hes top notch and putting in rules that are just to strict just because he thinks it should be that way.
We ebonhearts come together, not leave decisions to power hungry leaders.
To be fair, and speaking as an Ebonheart player, this is only because the three Pact races have a history of VERY shaky diplomacy with one another (Nords and Dunmer have been at war for centuries, and there was that whole Dunmer-enslaving-the-Argonians thing... a little awkward). The Pact is built that way because none of the three nations trust the other two to run things.
DC will prolly be least played, but not as much as people think. There are a lot of Breton fans and the numbers will naturally rise due to all you unique snowflakes trying to be the underdog.
i dont know much about the lore at all in general, but the fact that they hated eachother like you say, and came together to set a peaceful resolution in cyrodiil and the likes, and not putting 1 person in charge i love that.
Everyone has a say, and not just 1 king or queen. We can peacefully debate our next move (even though we dont get along). and move on from there.
Funny I had not read this so thanks for sharing it. Interestingly I tried all three during beta and the newbie areas for each kind of felt that way too. DC felt crappy, scummy, plotty, and backstabby (yes I am making up my own adjectives). AD I had the least time with but felt kind of middle of the road when compared to EP. In EP the quest givers and plot seemed to be much more of securing solidarity and gratefulness. For me I felt much better working for them. It is kind of cool that they give each player the opportunity to play for the team that fits them. I hope people take the time to “taste” each one before they settle into a faction.
You really should meet them before judging the three of them like that. You would be surprised.
Spoiler alert: They are all awesome. Great leaders. It is interesting how they are wise and adepts to diplomacy, according to people close to them, but yet are fighting each other. I love it. It portraits how there are no right sides in the war, and how can three people that are somehow alike be so willing to jump at each other's throats. Or maybe I am overthinking this.
Just clicked on the link - and I wouldn't recommending judging anything by TESO Census. This looks like something I've seen elsewhere...
I know jon leisian and karen brine and this looks like their (or at least someone with the same ideas) website; they used to make up 'census' data for Runescape to IP hack certain players. All way too complex for me to understand.
Definitely something sneaky going on there
I'm really interested in seeing each alliances turn-out - first-hand on the battlefield!
From what I understand from TESO census, forum polls and the like, AD will be the most populated, but all 3 factions should be relatively close to equal +/- 3-5%. I really doubt that there will be 1 faction at 40-50% while the other 2 split the remaining 50-60%
I too suspect that the census data is not genuine. All evidence seems to the contrary. And it is imposiibly unlikely that the distribution amongst the nations has been that even. The site is not run or maintained by the game companies, and is also a secure website, which is higly irregular for anything of this nature. I would warn anyone to be very careful about entering any data there.
Me too. These are three tough, independent races, and they will come together equally despite their histories to defend their right to live as they wish. That's why I'm Ebonheart Pact and proud of it.
What saddens me is that they will go back to hating each other in a few years ~.~
I hate knowing what is going to happen.
I dont want to meet them, (at least the DC and AD leaders ) i dont support having a shrewd rule driven king as my leader, nor do i support a stubborn little princess being my queen. I support everybody having a voice and coming together.
For the Ebonheart Pact!
Alright then. They are not like that, though, especially Ayrenn
Actually, I don't even know why they put this kind of stuff there. There are so many things on the website that do not match what we see in the game. Maybe they were old ideas and they didn't make it to the final product?
Ssssh, no time-traveling lore-related knowledge. What are you, a Psijic?
To be fair, Ayrenn is pretty cool as a person (though her spymaster is much, much cooler). It's just the rest of her race that turns me off the Dominion.
You say they are not like that, yet it clearly says they are like that on the websites description, lol. Now ESO is wrong all the sudden
You cant tell the future of ebonheart falling apart and hating eachother. Our message is clear, we came together to create peace. Who ever said we were going to go back to hating eachother? lol
I think it'll be pretty even.
Oddly enough, despite the high elves' reputation, race relations seems better in the AD than in either of the other factions (excepting a few minor civil wars and rebellious zealots here and there).
