Post » Tue May 17, 2011 1:35 am

Well we all know that FNV is out and there might or probably will be a F4.

Well what im wondering is what factions do you want to see back in future fallout games and ones you dont want to see in future fallout games?

If i missed any tell me.

The Enclave should be gone and needs to be gone, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't want them back.

I personally have never really like the BoS and hated how F3 made us work with them

Keep/Revisit:

NCR (Preferably with low numbers though, frontier style)
Legion (We don't know enough about them, especially as Caesar is almost certainly dead by the next Fallout)
Followers of the Apocalypse (I like seeing the optimists get shattered)

Remove:

BOS (Overplayed)
Enclave (Severely overplayed)
Talon Company (Sorry Mako, but if I remember correctly they got ruined by the Brotherhood in Broken Steel)

Wrong, they take a Paladin hostage, if you free him, the BoS counterattacks, but the attacking force completely destroyed.

Trust me, i loath the way they were represented in Fallout 3. I like Talon Company because of what they are, not how Bethesda's "Good versus EVULL" writing portrayed them. I DO NOT want a return of that, i want them portrayed accurately, as the True Neutral faction they really are.

As for the first point that's not what happened in my game, so I'm guessing it just comes down to chance rather than being scripte.
As for referring to them as True Neutral; they've only ever appeared in FO3, thus their actions in game are all we can use to define them, not what you want or think a 'proper' mercenary group should act like.
However I never thought of them as 'evil' in game, they simply take the highest bidding contracts (such as from Mr. Burke), the 'EVULL' image they hold is due to two things:
A ) They attack a Good aligned player.
B ) Their banner has a freakin' baby being carried off by a skull headed bird of prey.
Neither of those things are 'EVULL' The first is simply business whilst the second is a shock tactic.
Plus gamers generally refer to those attacking them as 'bad guys' regardless of their morality.

Talon Company is, in its basest forms, a mercenary organization with no limits on contracts. That's it, nothing else about them, the rest of what we saw was Bethesda's writing.

I will go into depth on this tomorrow, i am very tired... if you like, look at my post on the suggestion thread, or search for some of my posts about them, you can see why i support them and why i dont believe they should be represented like Bethesda did.

Yah talon company wasnt a bad faction they had everything you could have needed: Armor, Guns, Bases, Leaders, and tactics. The talon company could have been a small army. Not to mention they even had robots.

Yep, they do what they are payed to do, if they are payed to be good and moral, they would be good and moral; on the other hand, if they are payed to be murderous sociopaths, then that is what they will be. There is no ulterior agenda of being bad, only being profitable.

Keep NCR , bos where they are not dumb, Talon Company, what happened to the Shi?, Super Mutants one way or another. Enclave could always be lurking.

Destroy- Ceaser s Leagion. The only way I want to see them againt is if I can finish slaughtering them. 10mins of screen time max.

House ---- If he only would have worked with the NCR, then he d still be alive forever.

Republic of Dave was a joke to make you laugh I think.

Any faction that holds ground must be followed up on at one time or another at least.

I'de like to see the NCR go into a civil war. :hubbahubba: that would be fun.

I would really want to see some new factions introduced though, not just recycle all the old ones. That said, I would not mind seeing small elements of The Brotherhood, Enclave, Followers or NCR, Legion..... But I don't like factions playing huge roles in every game more than once.

EDIT: Talon Company would be awesome! They were so minor in FO3... how about some backstory?

Never want to see the Enclave back again, we can only kill them so many times before they just start being cartoon-ish. OH NO DEH ENCLAVE IZ BACK WUT R WE GUNNA DO?!

Talon Company? Uhh no the only reason they were in Fallout 3 in the first place was so there would be a evil to the regulators good. To actually make them into a full size faction would just be weird.

Definitely want the NCR back, I actually think a civil war would be pretty cool, it lets you keep the biggest faction in the game around but still keep the war never changes theme.

Brotherhood is a no brainer, right now ther're probably the biggest faction on the east coast not to mention whatever's going on with the Midwestern Brotherhood.

All in all though bring in new factions for the next game, it keeps things fresh more than just rehashing the same old factions over and over again.

Oh, so because a perfectly good faction was implemented badly, it should never be implemented correctly?

They weren't implemented badly in Fallout 3, they were implemented exactly the way they were supposed to be. Like I said, they were put there to go after good characters just like the regulators were there to go after bad.

 That IS bad implementation, Talon Company, at its base it JUST a mercenary organization with no contract limitations, NOTHING ELSE, they arent evil, Bethesda just wrote in an excuse for them to be "evil" cannon fodder and some cruddy karmic consequence.
