What I've Found.. (SPOILERS)

Post » Wed Feb 03, 2010 3:27 am

I'll be listing some interesting things I've found in Zion so far and feel free to do the same. I'll be listing interesting or cool things such as locations or items.

- Zion National Park Snow Globe: Can be found in the general store on the bottom shelf behind the cash register in the NE side of the map, south of the Zion Ranger Station.

The recipes are very interesting. We can craft leather armor from gecko hides. There's finally a use for coffee pots (Black Coffee, anyone?). Homebrewed Nuka-Cola and Sunset Sarsaparilla. Wasteland Tequila. And a Weapon Binding Ritual that makes use of a leather belt.

Found a Compliance Regulator in Fallen Rock Cave. On a critical hit it paralyzes.

edit: in fact, between campfires and workbenches, we can use a whole bunch of [censored] that was previously worthless. I don't know what Meals-to-Metal does at a workbench - I assume create scrap metal - but it uses butter knife, fork, metal spoon, and tin plate.

There are a LOT of new crafting options.

For the new ammo, we can craft:

.45 Auto +P Round, .45 Auto Round, .45 Super Hand Load.

Don't know what he looks like underneath the armor on account of him exploding to red bits...

When Joshua becomes a party member later in the DLC, he uses his custom .45. When told to use melee, he holds the .45 by the slide and bashes enemies in the head.

Thought that was pretty awesome :D

I found Desert Ranger Combat armor in a a cave in the Narrows. It looks like a desert camo version of Ranger Combat armor. No faction effect either.

Is this a complete list or by "off the top of my head" did you mean that only the details are fuzzy?

And thanks.

The armor has a DT of 22 and the helmet 5. There's no bonus to stats or skills to speak of. It's found in Glass Chime cave, by a survivalist cache.

There's a bunch of fun new perks. "Grunt" makes you do +25% damage with 9mm and .45 pistols and smgs as well as service rifles, assault rifles and marksman carbines and light machine guns. On top of that it affects the combat knife and grenade launchers.

grunt is over the top for a perk though. cowboy at least made some sense. grunt looks like they were catering to COD fans. the damage should've just been 10%.

Sure sounds like it.

The best that Cowboy does it it gives the Brush Gun REALLY nice DPH and it makes Lucky quite formidable. The Brush gun is an end-game gun to begin with though and Lucky goes from being "meh" to pretty sweet, though still inferior with DPH and not useful for a low-luck character at all. 25% damage increase on a assault/marksman carbines and LMGs though? Holy hell...

I suppose, but the damage increase still doesn't make the service rifle into a brush gun or a marksman carbine into a trail carbine. To me, it just balances things out.

from this trend, i'm guessing old world blues is going to introduce a similar perk for energy weapons +25% damage.

If the All-American is included in that perk (probably is), it now does 32.5 damage a shot. It's a rapid-fire sniper, basically.
