I do not want scribs. O_O They paralyzed me WAY too much. I'd rather listen to the Cliff Racer's and their horrifying shriek than be unable to play an amazing game for two seconds! O_O

Fatigue while running, "fail' while making potions and such. So irritating and "not fun".

To me it was more irritating than the Cliff Racers. I mean with the Cliff Racers you could at least use the mute button on a remote to get rid of that problem. With scribs. No matter what your level it seemed like the paralysis was unavoidable.

funny, I could of sworn scribs were non-hostile... other than some in a quest related dungeon that were diseased I don't ever remember being attacked by one.

Cliff Racers.

Aside from that, Id hate to have to start using the RA command to keep my travel NPCs from hopping off to their death.

Fargoth.
That's all I got, unless huge armor variety, and a good pool of skills is bad all fo the sudden.

I guess the only bad thing about Morrowind(That I can think of right now) was the Animations. But I don't expect Skyrim to get them perfect.

Graphics? Cliff Racers? Fargoth?

[censored] please, Fargoth was a great if not THE greatest addition to any role playing game ever. I hope you know, I never gave him his ring, and I made loads of characters.

The atrocious combat, and the fact that you had to read paragraph after paragraph after paragraph of small font writing when talking to NPCs.

Stagnant NPC's
Shops which are open all the time.
Weak end bosses.
Lack of good directions.

Right off the top of my head.

Shops which are open all the time.

True. It was weird how people didnt need to sleep at all.

Here i add this: Most houses in Morrowind and Oblivion had only one person living in it. at least they should make most house have a couple in it for the rest of the family i dont know if i want children the game since I would feel restrained for obvious reasons if there were to have kids.

Pretty much the same thing everyone else here has said, I think:

- The combat system
- The static NPCs
- Early 2000s graphics
- Non-regenerating magicka
- Maybe one cliff racer

I wonder the reasoning behind this? It seems like you just want less customization. What if I only want to wear one glove/gauntlet?

Anyway,

I'm a huge MW fan so this might be kind of hard...

1. Animations -- they weren't much better in OB either, but hopefully they will be with the new engine
2. No Magicka Regen -- Same as everyone else
3. Static NPCs -- not going to happen so I'm not worried about it
4. Any creatures/enemies besides the rat and the creatures of Solstheim (reikling, spriggan, horker, bear, wolf etc.) Keep things unique, I also don't want to see a bunch of rehashed OB mobs.
5. Character models -- while OB's were better they still weren't good, and the faces were terrible

Things that I want to see return that I know that I am in the minority on:

1. Text based dialog -- text based was better. Conversations were longer and more in depth and you didn't have to listen to those terrible voice actors (male elf? murder me please) You could never have a truly epic conversation in OB like you did with Vivec, and generally the voices sound better in my head (not to mention voiced dialog takes SOOOO much disc space :(
2. Missing when you attack -- yes, I like the dice roll, it allowed you to be super awesome when you got to a higher level since you did a lot of damage. Now don't get me wrong, I don't want to watch my sword go *through* someone, that WAS annoying. But when the dice indicate I should "miss", an animation in which my target blocks or dodges or deflects the attack off of armor could play. In a real battle between swordsmen, every blow doesn't cut you, that's why you have to be a good swordsman to use his weight against him.

how about they avoid Morrowinds monochromatic tendency. the brown on brown with some red sky for good measure. I dont want Skyrim to be white with more white with a whitish blue sky... idc if you have to go alittle toward the crazy to break up the chromatic spectrum (invent a volcano that spews a rainbow, idc..) just dont get stuck thinking that just because its in the North everything is going to be all snow white and boring...

i dont know about Dice rolls because in morrowind i could easily one hit about everyone at level 3 with a daedric claymore or dai katana since i for exemple took a dunmer and leveled up about 20 times in long sword

The feeling of being an ant in a giant world. Sorry, but Morrowind was just too weird for me. Much prefer the lushness of Oblivion (not the gates, yuck).

  • Morrowind's non-regenerating magicka
  • Morrowind's magic stance to be able to cast spells
  • Morrowind's and Oblivion's combat
  • Morrowind's and Oblivion's AI (combat AI in particular)
  • Morrowind's and Oblivion's animations
  • Morrowind's and Oblivion's leveling system
  • Oblivion's level scaling
  • Oblivion's fast travel
  • Oblivion's quest markers
  • Oblivion's boring, linear factions
  • Oblivion's lockpick and persuasion minigames
  • Oblivion's stolen goods system (stolen goods must be bought by thieves guild fences)
  • Oblivion's house ownership system (killing the guy who lives there won't let you use his house as your own)

General thongs like bad animations are obvious. The only things that really stop me playing MW now is the 'spell stance' and 'swinging a miss'. Everything else was pretty spot on, although many improvements can and should be made.

PS: On second thoughts, no Magicka regeneration was a pain as well.

I know I'm alone here, but I want some of the dice-roll combat style back. Not as intense as Morrowinds, but like you sometimes do really weak attacs and depending on your blade skill you will do more consistently strong attacks or something, and have a higher chance at lower levels of getting 'stunned' when swinging so that it takes longer to swing again. Magicwise, I like regenerating magicka but it happens too fast and I would like to be able to fail spells sometimes or cast them with slight innacuracy (IMO magic is overpowered). And as for whether you have to change magic stance or not, IMO it should be needing to change ONLY if you have more than one hand full.
