Team fortress 2 and Counter-strike:source. Why?

for team fortress 2, i play because it has class-based game play, which brink obviously has,ya know? study the strengths and weaknesses of each class? As for cs:s,i play it to become twitchier

I'm not really playing anything in anticipation fro Brink, since every time I play a shooter, I constantly think to my self, "I wish this was Brink."

Perhaps it's because I know how SD-style games play, and no other shooter can mimic its gameplay and feel, so no other shooters right now (xbox 360) can really curb my appetite for Brink.

I have been playing a lot of Dragons Age recently though - I suddenly got this urge to go back and play it again.

Shadowrun can mimic Brink a good bit. Has the same 'Go anywhere on the map that's possible, fast paced' type feel to it. But I can't play that game for my life on PC since it's too hard to move fluently in.

Because they gimped the PC controls horribly, in an attempt to "balance" the game for cross-platform play.

Wolfenstein: Enemy territory and Enemy Territory: Quake Wars are probably as close as you will get (Both SD games as well)
You can download Wolfenstein ET for free.

Tried the quake wars demo today ... pretty good but the maps are too big , I can kill someone from the other side of the map in like 3 hits .

That's IMHO the only downside of ET:QW, big maps and vehicles.

I'm playing a load of BF:BC2 as of now. I'm determined to plat a few weapons before Brink comes out. Should be a challenge considering college starts up in a couple weeks.

I'm playing a bunch of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, Reach and Gears of War. But I'm not really "training" just playing those games haha. Just looking forward to Brink.

What is TF2? I see it talked about on this topic frequently, but I can't figure out what game it is refering to. Sorry for the noob question!

Team Fortress 2, was a fairly unique game that had a bunch of very different classes that required teamwork to complete objectives. Each class had at least one major weakness, so teamwork was required.

And classes countered and counter-countered eachother. So a Sniper could be good at scanning rooftops for other enemy Snipers, but a Spy sneaking up behind them could kill them in one hit. Engineers could build turrets, but a good Demoman or Spy could sabotage them or blow them up.

I'm playing a bit of Fallout 3 now. Yes, I know it's unrelated. I'm just catching up.

i'm playing dc universe online....it's not fps, the multiplayer isn't even remotely team or objective based, and the shooting takes more bullets to kill than seems practical to even carry.

but it's gonna take me a while to finish it and skyrim isn't here yet to hoover up my non work hours yet.

Can you finish an mmo? Friend just got it, looks ok but Cba with subscription for it n I don't use my ps3 much.

Call of Duty: MW2
Call of Duty: BO
13 years of Counterstrike (including a few of CS:S)
5 Years of Team Fortress 2

I think that should be good for now. :flamethrower:

Nobody knows how the BRINK gameplay will feel. Actually, the testers will, but as for 'feel' I think it's something that cannot be described unless you have a really quality player explaining the game. Since I've never heard of a skilled FPS player being hired to test an FPS game and report on it, I imagine we'll just have to wait and see.
I've burnt out on BC2 about a month back, been playing Monday Night Combat and Breach since. These games stretch a very wide FPS gameplay gap. I'm sure as soon as BRINK comes out I will have an arm and a leg up on just about most people. But that will mostly just be from playing FPS games for a over a decade.
