What Game Does Brink Remind You of?

Post » Fri Oct 15, 2010 4:59 pm

For me personally, it seems to be a mix between MAG, Team Fortress, Mirrors Edge, and some elements from Crysis 2, like the cover system and the sliding ability.

personaly gonna go with borderlands for the classes, rainbowsix vegas 2 for the character customization but i mean alot of games take some ideas from each other like lost planet 2 and gears, cod and battlefield but i mean hey thats my personal opinion.

Halo Reach + Team Fortress 2 + Mirror's Edge + Borderlands (A stretch but I can see it)

Light gameplay reminds me of Mirror's Edge
Medium Gameplay reminds me of COD
Heavy gameplay reminds me of Killzone

Art style reminds me of borderlands, as do the weapons.

Call of Duty: Black Ops. :whistling:

Hahaha, well played.

Yeah, definitely Mirror's Edge for the movement and (because we've barely had anything else that has experimented with movement), I hate to say it because there aren't that many similarities but, yes, Borderlands for the art style. The art styles are different, but the overall effect is somewhat related...it's hard to explain, but that's my feeling. Thinking of games with weapon customization reminds me of Alpha Protocol. Team Fortress 2 for overdone characters and the classes.

Brink.... B)

Brink definetly.

The fact that games nowdays take something from several other games combine with few innovative Dev ideas (SMART/Blurring the line SP-MP/Teamwork centric) is exactly what makes them unique and not similar in my opinion.

So i can say it has something of Borderlands/Mirror's Edge etc,but no,it doean't reminds me of them.It is a unique FPS atm.

TF2, Mirror's Edge and Borderlands are the most direct comparisons I'd draw.

It's not "based on" any of them though - it has its own style, influenced by others, but unique.

And Brink is totally a Minecraft clone. Don't lie  (What do you mean Minecraft isn't out yet? it's not like it's still in beta or anything)

Brink doesn't remind me of any game. It does, however, trigger the pleasure center in my brain.

IDK why alot of people are saying Borderlands.

That's probably due to the stylistic similarities - slighty-cartoonish avatars, dystopian setting, similar guns, etc (Also new haven looks somewhat similar to container city). The similarities between the two aren't overwhelming, but they are certainly there
