  • played planescape torment
  • played and loved deus ex

So what games would you recomend me? Was thinking about getting a baldurs gate so if u could tell me which one u would recommend and why would be great, but please give me some other titles to play aswell (and why)

Baldur's Gate 4 in 1 box set. Great stuff.
Dunno if you like it, but Mount&Blade: Warband is one of the best games I've ever played. Sadly no story(except your own), but no magic and a nice medieval setting.

If you liked Fallout 1/2 and Planescape: Torment then you would probably like the Baldur's Gates, so I recommend playing both of them as they're both two parts of a larger story, I also recommend the expansion "Throne of Bhaal" for Baldur's Gate 2 since that expansion concludes that story. Tales of the Sword Coast for Baldur's Gate isn't necessary since all that adds are a couple new 'meh side quests, but if you like extensive dungeons filled with puzzles then Durlag's Tower can be enjoyable (as can Watcher's Keep in BG2's expansion).

As for other games from the same era, I'm assuming you want RPGs here, both of the Icewind Dales use the same engine as Baldur's Gate and Planescape: Torment, if you like straight forward dungeon crawling games and the tactical combat of the Infinity Engine then they're worth playing.

the mass effect and bioshock series are both really good games. bioshock especially captures the dark and bleak atmosphere that fallout edges, but doesn't always jump headfirst into.

note: mass effect is a great RPG, and bioshock has a good story, but they're mainly if you enjoy the newer fallouts. i dunno if anybody here has played them, but i'm not sure how appealing dinos would find them

Baldur's Gate series has the most insane Fallout related easter egg. But you have to play through both games and expansions with at least one of the same characters to be able to trigger it.

Besides that, it's an all around awesome RPG series.

Myself, I'm nearing the end of Arx Fatalis ~another all around awesome RPG.

*And made even more awesome with the addition of this, post install 3rd party upgrade:
