a) Arena, Redguard, Morrowind, Oblivion
B) All
c) All of them hopefully? Oblivion and Arena anyway.
d) Morrowind. Though I adore Redguard and everything about it.

I would just like to point out there are more people who voted Skyrim will be better than Daggerfall & Arena than there are people who said they played Daggerfall & Arena.

It amazes me how people can come on to the Skyrim forum and vote that it will be the worst one... Wow, just wow...

I have played, Arena, Daggerfall, Morrowind and Oblivion. I have never finished any of them but played over 200 hours each. My problem is restartitis. :D

I have play only a few hours of Battlespire, found it too different than Daggerfall so I couldn't get use to it. I missed getting Redguard, and I kick myself for
not getting it. I wish I could get it just to complete my collection.

I use to think Daggerfall was the best, but for me, I would say Morrowind is the best. I hated Oblivion at first, that I gave up on it. After a month of giving
up on it, I tried it again, and then fell in love with it slowly, so all the TES games, I-IV, I love them all. Funny the side ones, I don't really care for or never
played.

After my experiance with Oblivion and how it was promised to us as Morrowind 2.0, I will wait and see. I will not judge in anticipation for it. Civ V,
New Vegas were soooooooooooo looking forward to it, and was soooooooooooooooooooooo disapointed with it, I don't want the same thing happen
to Skyrim what happened to Oblivion, so it's a wait and see and not to get to excited. I guess my experiances made me more mature. :ahhh:

Which Elder Scrolls games have you played? Morrowind and Oblivion
Which games have you finished? (Main Quest) Morrowind and Oblivion
I think that Skyrim will be better than... Dunno. I think it's too early to even start guessing. I choose to be optimistic and vote better than Morrowind and Oblivion.
I think that the best Elder Scrolls game so far is... In my opinion, Morrowind and Oblivion is pretty close. I have never understood how someone could love one of the games and hate the other. I think they are pretty similar when you look at the basic. Still, overall, i feel Oblivion was the better game.

With each new game Bethesda has tried to give we fans an improved game experience and I applauded their efforts. Still have my Hard copies (CD/DVD) of games in the OP plus Readguard Adventures. No doubt Skyrim will be the next step in that epic odessy.

Levitation does fit into the lore, how would the Telvannis reach the top of their their tree-towers. And besides, you could buy Rising Force Potions which weren't that expensive, and there was a shrine in Vivec which allowed you to levitate 100pts for 24 minutes.

Levitation appeared in a couple of games, that doesn't mean that it fits in the lore. There are instances of limited levitation, such as levitation that allowed people to cross chasms before it gave out, not the extent of flying all over Morrowind screaming "WHEEEEEEEEEE" and the awe-inspiring flying potion that was created in Umbriel, which is a city from within Oblivion, powers such as that are even rare in Oblivion beyond that of the Daedric Princes, that has to tell you something. The same goes with teleportation, there was no instances of teleportation in lore, just use of portals.

Another thing, why didn't the imperial battlemage captain not use levitation to fly up the Battlespire? Instead he rode a dragon companion of his, that's because levitation requires large amounts of magicka constantly to allow you to levitate and being able to fly around as you wish just isn't possible.

Why not?

Let's say you are in an environment and wherever you go is the same, and another environment that changes quite a bit as you move around in that place. What environment would feel bigger?

Also:

The one that is biggest will feel bigger, if this is all that is the difference. You saying that a field with different sets of plants is gonna feel bigger than a plain corn field of the same size. It isn't, diversity and uniqueness have no impact on the feel of how big a place is.

As you can see from the list of parameters you provided, none of them speak of diversity or uniqueness, it talks about boundaries, obstacles, and limits.

I''ve played all expect Arena. My favourite game is definitely Morrowind and I doubt that skyrim will change that. I also liked Daggerfall more than oblvion. And I'm sure if I had played Arena, i would have liked it more than Oblvion.

So I don't think that Skyrim can "beat" morrowind. However I'd be stunned if it wasn't any better than oblivion.

In my opinion it makes sense and fits into the lore at least in some place (Vvardenfell) of the world of Nirn at a certain moment. Sorry but I'm an archeologist (in real life I mean) and it's absolutely impossible for me to rely only on texts or on what people say. People can write anything they want and lie or forget to mention everything (even in TES lore, and that is also what makes the world of TES believable). I have to see facts, and the fact is that at a certain moment in a certain place (Vvardenfell), you can levitate, so sure it does fit at least in the lore of Vvardenfell imo. Perhaps it has something to do with the Ministry of Truth (yet another place you cannot reach without levitation) or Vivec himself. And it may also be the reason why it doesn't work the same way outside Morrowind. That is purely hypothetical but this is my interpretation, and you're absolutely free to have yours ;)
Anyway nevermind, I can perfectly understand why it wasn't in Oblivion (obviously also for practical gameplay reasons). And I wouldn't mind whether levitation is or isn't in Skyrim, besides it would certainly look a bit weird to fight dragons while levitating (Dragon Ball style :o )

Here're my answers:

PLAYED: Arena, Daggerfall, Morrowind, Oblivion

THINK SKYRIM WILL BE BETTER THAN: Arena, Daggerfall, Oblivion
FAVOURITE: Morrowind

EDIT: Now played Arena.

I’ve played (in this order):

Morrowind (Xbox)
Morrowind GOTY (Xbox)
Morrowind GOTY (PC)
Daggerfall (PC)
Oblivion (PC)
Oblivion GOTY (Xbox 360)

I’ve completed (main quest):

Morrowind.
Oblivion.

I think Skyrim will be better than:

... none of them. I feel it will unique and good in its own right, like all of them.

The best Elder Scrolls so far is:

... a subjective opinion. I love all of them I’ve played. Morrowind is the game I feel the greatest attachment to, but I suspect that is because it was the first.

It seems it is going to be better than Morrowind, but Oblivion seemed that way, too.

Some people may be surprised, but my all time favorite is Morrowind(Dwemer played a big role in the ranking).

With the return of Dwemer ruins and stuff Skyrim is looking good for me.

Don't get the point of these threads, honestly. They're all the same and will inevitably lead to Oblivion bashing and Morrowind worshiping. That seems to be the obvious trend on these forums.

Two archtypes I generally find on these forums are the morrowind worshippers and the embittered people who can't handle a large crowd actually liking something.
A lot of people bash Oblivion for numerous reasons but a lot of these people like the game also. I was dissapointed by the game for different reasons but I still think
it has some really good qualities and all in all is a good game.

As for my voting, I have played Daggerfall, Morrowind and Oblivion though I have not finnished Daggerfall. I was thinking about doing it sometime in the near future though.
I think that Skyrim will be better than... Oblivion, other than that I don't know, I haven't played Arena, and not enough Daggerfall. Combat-wise and graphically I have no question that it's
going to be better than Morrowind but overall I'm still... Sceptical.

My favourite TES is Morrowind.

Oblivion ps3 , Morrowind PC

only Oblivion

hopefully it will be the best one ever and sounds like it will be.

Oblivion, and i wonder if its because i played it first and going back to the older morrowind it felt aged and slow and uneventful...
if i had played Morrowind first i suspect i would have loved it... is there anybody on here that played OB first then played MW after? if so
whats your take on the games?

Sadly, I've only played Morrowind and Oblivion, but I played both of them for hundreds of hours. I think Skyrim will be better than Oblivion, but it probably still won't be better than Morrowind.

I played Oblivion first, and then the others, and I fell in love with the older games. My take on this thread is on the first page, but I think it might be misleading. I think all these games are great, they just have different strengths and weaknesses. Just because I rated Morrowind higher than Oblivion, doesn't mean I don't still love Oblivion. Oblivion still kicks the crap out of 99% of every other game ever made. The graphics of the older games aren't much of an issue with me. One of the things I like about Morrowind is the pace of the main quest. It doesn't shove it down your throat. In Oblivion, there is a drive in the writing to get a move on with the MQ, and I found that annoying, because I just wanted to wander around and do what I wanted. I always feel torn in Oblivion, and the main quest is like the sword of Damocles. That's not there in Morrowind or Daggerfall. There are other reasons, but I can see the eyes of the wolves in the shadows, waiting to pounce, so I'll just leave it at that for now.

I've played and finished Daggerfall, Morrowind and Oblivion. I find Daggerfall to be the most complex and rich game, especially for a '96 game. Morrowind took a different direction, but I still love it.

Skyrim will be better than...Arena. :P This way I won't be disappointed! :D

1. Daggerfall, Morrowind, Oblivion. I played about 6 hours of Arena, but it wasn't running very well in DOSbox for me. Also played Battlespire and the Redguard demo. I also count the Betony Dagdemo as a seperate game because of the dozens of hours I spent on that.

2. Daggerfall, Morrowind. Didn't finish Oblivion because the whole King of Worms thing in the mage's guild questline caused me to quit. Eventually I decided that it was an imposter, so I've recently reinstalled and I'm going through again.

3. Skyrim will be better than Oblivion and Morrowind. Unless it's massive and exceptionally revolutionary, it won't be as good as Daggerfall.

4. Daggerfall. Considering when it was released, it's almost impossible to match it.

I played Morrowind first but never really got into it and didn't play much, so it doesn't really count. Then I got Oblivion and went back to Morrowind and enjoyed it more. But I recommend playing Morrowind first. It's hard to go back in the series (hard, not impossible).
