I play pretty much all the games people have already listed.... but my fav currently is:
Battlefield 1943 (Xbox 360)
Odd choice considering the limitations of the game... Nope! It is the limitations that appeal to me. Everyone on an equal footing and all that.
Just played through the new MOH. I love WW2 shooters. I Like MOH games in general. The new one has shocked and saddened me. I am gobsmacked that MOH has followed the trend towards 'short single player campaign'. I got MOH as I took it for-granted the single player would be superb and last quite a few weeks of sporadic play at the least.
4-5 hours on medium. Thats awful.
To boot I didn't even enjoy it much. Very scripted. Constant long distance battles are quite dull eventually. Glitches that meant having to reload a checkpoint (doors you can't go through etc). A very 'run, shoot out, run, shoot out' over and over again feel. Even though there are a few variants thrown in (ATV quads, Gunships etc) it just all felt wrong and woefully short.
I'm tinkering with Halo: Reach, but not a huge fan. Its very good, don't get me wrong, but the things that make it good for some are the things that make it 'just ok' for me. Just feels a bit weak and lifeless. Floaty walking. Ping ping gun sounds. I had the same feelings about Halo 3.
I'm a hard person to please.
