If you're into RPG games you should try Mass Effect 2 on the PS3. If you're into the more story aspect of RPG gaming you should definitely pick up Heavy Rain, it's an absolutely perfect game.

Mass Effect 2, Dragon age 2 and NOT Two worlds 2

Possibly Mass Effect 3 if it comes out before Skyrim. (It won't be much longer before but still, it will keep you busy)

Mass Effect 2, God of War 3, Uncharted series, Red Dead Redemption, and... other popular PS3 games (I'm not much of a PS3 gamer, don't have many recommendations. Sorry.)

Good Choices.

Not sure if The Witcher 2 will be on PS3? if it is, add that also. Oh and if you haven`t got RDR then it`s a MUST. Brilliant game.

Play Rune, it's an old PS2 game, but it will get you into the viking mood.

It`s bad. I got it on release day, played for 10 hours and was bored silly with the shallow nonsense. I think the first one is still better lol.

Final Fantasy XIII. While not as good as its predecessors its still worth a play and the characters are pretty cool. I;ve heard good things about heavy rain and want to play it myself, maybe I can find it cheap somewhere.
Armored Core 4 is a good one for action, little big planet is fun and cute.

Well Drake's Deception comes out a week before Skyrim, but if you have a PS3 you probably already have that date marked :D

Haha too bad... that game had so much potential... but hey, if they keep selling and keep making sequels, maybe two worlds 4 will be a solid game?

He is really Peter Molyneux and doesn't understand why people dislike Fable 2 and 3. I heard that Fable 4 will have one button labeled "Do" and it will automatically do whatever the game thinks is best for the player's situation. Peter said that hopefully in a couple more additions to the series he will have removed the Do button and make a movie :P

This is my list. Not all of them are RPGs, but this is my list of games I enjoy on PS3:
  • Assassin's Creed 1/Brotherhood
  • Batman Arkham Asylum
  • Borderlands
  • Dragon Age (Don't particularly care for it but many people like it)
  • FO:3
  • God of War 1-3
  • LBP1 and LBP2 (Yeah I'm college age, doesn't mean those games aren't fun sometimes *sad shuffle*)
  • MGS4
  • RE5
  • Uncharted Series

Final Fantasy XIII if you want an RPG that has virtually no role-playing!

The graphics are great, and I was amazed that I got to the end of level 9 before giving up.

But you have to like combat, as you have virtually no input into the story - every decision is taken care of by a cut scene. And there are loads of cut scenes. The combat is clever, and quite easy to get into, however battles can last ages unless you get good at changing 'paradigms' (combat strategies) at the right time. Most levels are just a series of battles ...

My personal favourites of what I've played on the PS3 are:

Uncharted 1+2
God of War 3 (just finished this yesterday, brilliant game)
Heavy Rain
LittleBigPlanet
Infamous
Killzone 2

[EDIT]: Note that I mostly just play exclusives on the PS3, so there are many more cross platform games I'd recommend too but can't be bothered listing them.

Well it's old news now, and it's not an RPG, but Just Cause 2 is really fun and a great time waster. Really recommend it.

I just bought a PS3 actually, and the top game on my list to start with was Bayonetta. Also not an RPG, but nevertheless I think it'll be good.

Demon's Souls

An ARGP of the highest caliber.

Great difficulty, great combat system, great multiplayer, great crafting, amazing game design. One of my all time favorites, PS3 exclusive. :) Get your copy today, you will not be sorry.

END fan rant : )

I'm assuming you’ve played the Fallouts and past Elder Scrolls, if not than I recommend them. For those that are not on PS3 an average PC should be able to handle them, and you can get Arena and Daggerfall for FREE.
Other than those, there’s the Mass Effect series, a little bit more linear than ES but with an interesting story and characters. Also Red Dead Redemption is a must, it’s getting so many GOTY's for a reason.
