What is going on with these stupid perks?

Post » Wed Sep 30, 2009 10:14 pm

I stood about 20 yards from an NPC. Pulled up VATS. Wrote down all the targetting percents with both a 9mm pistol and 10mm pistol. Leveled up and stood in the exact same spot, bought the gunslinger perk. Reopened VATS-- same exact numbers??

What the hell? The perk says SIGNIFICANTLY. If it doesn't even move a single tenths place it's far from sginificant.

Game has been out how long now and this stuff is broken?!?

Maybe dont use VATS? Its not very good.....get a good gun and shot them. :gun: Plus I wouldn't waste a perk on something like that....I have learned that this game is always glitching....

The problem is that VATS doesn't work at longer ranges. It's been like this since FO3, and I suspect it's by design. If you were closer, you'd probably see more of a difference. IIRC it's something like an extra 10% chance to hit, but I'm not sure.

Oh ya, don't use VATS, and don't use perks.

Brilliant idea, and one I'm probably going to be taking up as I reinstall dragon age or mass effect 2.

This game is more buggy/broken then when it was first released. Completely inexcusable.

i dont know why you would use VATS for anything other than close range fighting. Seems like a somewhat useless perk to me.

According to the Wikia:

This perk affects all one-handed Small Guns and Energy Weapons. It does not affect any other types of weapons.

â– This perk replaces the One Hander trait from previous Fallout games.
This perk does not work in the current 1.1.035 version of the PC game.

^^^^^

I only ever use VATS to occasionally line up a shot when it's a frantic firefight situation or otherwise sighting a target that is among brush/shrubbery.

Ignoring the VATS-related perks just makes it even easier for me to decide which perks to go with, anyway.
