What is going to be your Skyrim Setup?

Post » Wed Jan 13, 2010 7:40 am

Motherboard : MSI K9A2 CF
CPU : AMD Athlon x2 5600+ 2.6Ghz
GPU : Radeon 3870 512Mb
RAM : 4GB DDR2 800Mhz
HDD : 500GB 7200RPM
PSU : 550W cheap
Montior : Samsung P2450H 24" Widescreen

I plan on upgrading to a Radeon 6870. Of course that will mean I need a newer CPU, so I would look at the AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4Ghz. But of course, my motherboard can only support 95W or under, so I need a new motherboard too :brokencomputer: .

Since I'll be getting a new motherboard, I may as well get some DDR3 RAM. Oh, and while we're at it, lets get ourselves a nice 60GB ish SSD :toughninja: .

OS: Windows 7
Monitor: LG 23 inch, I think. 1920x1080. Can't remember the exact model.
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 955, CPU Cooler: CoolerMaster V6GT
RAM: 4gb DDR3
Mobo: Asrock 890GX Extreme4 (Had a really good gigabyte mobo but it died, pretty devastated and they wouldn't let me return it :( The asrock mobo isn't too bad though.)
GPU: ATI Radeon HD 5850
HDD: 2TB
Optical device: Generic dvd mutli reader/writer
Audio: On-board "HD" audio.
Power Supply: Corsair TX850W

Wouldn't call it the second PC I've built, though I have changed the Motherboard 3 times, just installed another hard drive and disc drive though. Pretty excited for Skyrim!

My pc's not important. It will either run Skyrim, or i'll take it to my bathroom and overclock it to hell in the shower.

video card: nvidia geforce gtx 275
ram: 4gb ddr2 kingston something
harddrive: 2x crucial c300 ssd 64gig in raid0

Phenom 2 X2 555, GTS 450, 4GB RAM, and 2.5TB of storage space. Ran me about £350, not including peripherals. Going to enjoy the heck out of Skyrim.

An old iMac, most likely. (Would be nice to get one of the new ones, with an ATI 6750 or 6770, but no guarantees....)

So... 2.66 Core 2 Duo, 4GB ram, ATI HD2600XT/256mb. 1680x1050 monitor. Oh, and my Win XP bootcamp partition is 32GB, so I can fit one or two games at a time. (kept most of the space for my OSX partition...)

(crossing my fingers that the min requirements don't jump up much for FO3/FONV)

not a collage student butstill make only around a grand a week. Every component in my pc is bought separatly and installed by me spread over months of saving my wife would kill me if I showed up with the pc I have brand new. She would lock me out and that would be fine, cept theres no outlets outside lol.

You can find serious deals on the interwebs the only thing I have from a store is my gpu and that was a presant.

just gotta prioritize ur pc and make a list of essential needs in the order u need them.
U got 7 months get at it brotha.

@granger is that a hp slimline?

Eh the only thing I would change is my gpu and a heatsink so I can overclock my 2.4GHz quad core to closer to 3. Still though.. 52000k a year is significantly more than I can expect to make in a year. Heres to hoping I won't need anything expensive until Skyrim comes out. lol.

I will say my gpu isn't that bad. 8800gts (so pretty dated, but it gets the job done).

Im a college student. Im married. I have a child. A mortgage. We have bills, 2 car payments. Shelling out money on an indie dev.... My wife and I make a combined 36k a year, so anyone who says they cant afford a gaming computer - if I can do all this, then you need to learn how to save money...

Recluse:
AMD PhenomII x3 720 @ 3.6
MSI K9A2 Platinum v.1 790FX
Crossfire 5850 1GBs
500GB Samsung Spinpoint F1
4GB DDR2 1066 5-5-5-15
Onboard Sound
6 button Logitech Mouse
Saitek Eclipse II Keyboard
21" 5ms Sceptre Monitor 1080p
Windows 7 64 Professional

I can max out every game I play on this computer. I know some of the tech is dated, but due to developers designing a game on 7 year old console technology and then porting to the PC, you dont really need a system as powerful as mine to even play games on..... Pretty much anything built in 2008 with a mainstream graphics card will be more than enough to play games comfortably. Let alone Skyrim. Ill most likely be able to use the same AA settings as a modded Oblivion, so Im not concerned about sys reqs.
Side note: I would love to get 2 more monitors and play around with a tri-eyefinity setup.

My current PC:
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 @ 3.00GHz
RAM: 4 GB DDR2
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250
OS: Windows 7 64 Bit
Monitor: Samsung

Can anyone also tell me approximately how well my computer should be able to run the Skyrim?
I'm thinking about getting a laptop soon for $700 or less and if its possible to get a better laptop to run Skyrim with then my current computer for that price, I'll do so. Oblivion runs great on my current computer, even with 200+ mods.

Best of both worlds - I`ll be playing Skyrim on..

Xbox 360 Slim, 250gb HD, HDMI on 46" Samsung Plasma T.V

PC - Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 o/c to 3.6Ghz,
4Gb XMS PC6400 Corsair DDR2,
Gigabyte GA-X48-DS4 Mobo,
XFX ATI Radeon HD 4890 1GB,
1Tb Samsung Sata Hard drive,
Creative X-Fi Titanium sound card,
Corsair TX 850w PSU
LG Flatron 22" Monitor
Windows 7 Ultimate - 64 Bit

I`ll probably play first on my Xbox 360 for a while then get the PC version eventually and try some mods out.

I'd say stay away from laptops for heavy gaming. Too many problems with keeping them cool. With $700 you can get a fairly high end gaming desktop, as apposed to paying $1500+ for a laptop with the same specs.
