CPU: i5 750
GPU: 2 HD 5850s in crossfire

I'm fairly certain that I will be able to max out the game at 1080p.

not a collage student butstill make only around a grand a week. Every component in my pc is bought separatly and installed by me spread over months of saving my wife would kill me if I showed up with the pc I have brand new. She would lock me out and that would be fine, cept theres no outlets outside lol.

You can find serious deals on the interwebs the only thing I have from a store is my gpu and that was a presant.

just gotta prioritize ur pc and make a list of essential needs in the order u need them.
U got 7 months get at it brotha.

@granger is that a hp slimline?

But "only" makes a grand a week. Better sign up for footstamps! I sure wish I "only" made a g a week.

Depending on where they live, they just might need food stamps.

As for my system...

Intel Core i7 950 @ 3.07 Ghz
6.0 GB Ram
1.5 gb Nvidia Geforce GTX 480
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

Then I have a Dell Trinitron monitor that's well over ten years old. I plan on getting a new one before Skyrim comes out.

26 lb. POS with a screen.

Actually, I might get a new graphics card before then, so it won't be such a POS by then.

I am building a new computer in August. Here are the complete parts I have currently picked out and I welcome any feedback you may have:

Corsair White Graphite Series 600T Mid Tower Computer Case
GIGABYTE GA-P67A-UD4-B3 Intel Motherboard
EVGA GeForce GTX 570 HD w/Display-Port (Fermi) 1280MB 320-bit GDDR5
CORSAIR HX Series 850W Power Supply
Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz Quad-Core Desktop Processor
CORSAIR DOMINATOR GT 4GB (2 x 2GB) 2000
Corsair Performance 3 Series 64GB Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
Western Digital Caviar Green 2TB SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive
Saitek Eclipse III Black USB Wired Keyboard
LG Black Blu-ray Disc
ASUS Xonar Essence ST Audio Card
CORSAIR Hydro Series H60 High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler
Logitech MX Laser Mouse
Samsung 26in SyncMaster T260
Logitech 5.1 Surround System

Looks like you will have a fun time with this setup.

Will you have enough space to install Windows + all your games and any mods on the SSD?

Lol its not what it sounds like its only like 700 after taxes and that coupled with bills and putting the wife through her masters with the least amount of student loans possible on just that income, it gets tight

Quite a few KILLLAR SANDY BRIDGE RIGZZ!!

Sorry went into "hardware-enthusiast" mode. I'll custom build my PC, like everything I've ever owned, buying piece by piece. Probably not a Sandybrige mobo but a bulk-standard core 2 quad socket 775mobo with a decent card. I still have my OEM case from the very first ATX system, with new parts and a fan running beside it. Better not save up on the PSU this time though...

Haha!! I'm in my first year at university, so money is really tight. I'm really doubting that I'll be able to run Skyrim on the PC I have now! Probably gonna get a job over the summer and buy a new one. Won't be getting anything as good as some listed here though, unless I can find some decent prices!!

+1 same here. Maybe I'll just rob a bank. lol.

ANYTHING FOR TES. <3 TODD HOWARD!

THIS AGAIN? Screw it, I can't convince anyone to wait for the system specs to be released. Here's what I'm saving up for:

Operating system Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Processor AMD Phenom™ X4 955 quad-core processor [3.2GHz, 2MB L2 + 6MB L3 shared, up to 4000MHz]
Memory 6GB DDR3-1333MHz SDRAM [3 DIMMs]
Hard drive 1TB 7200 rpm SATA 3Gb/s
Office software Microsoft® Office Home and Student 2010
Security software Norton Internet Security™ 2011 - 15 month
Graphics card 1GB DDR3 AMD Radeon HD 6570 [DVI, HDMI. VGA adapter]
Primary optical drive LightScribe 16X max. DVD+/-R/RW SuperMulti drive and a 16x max. DVD ROM (player)
Networking Integrated Ethernet port, No wireless LAN
Productivity ports 15-in-1 memory card reader, 1 USB, 1394, audio
Sound Card Integrated sound
Keyboard and Mouse HP USB keyboard and optical mouse
Headsets & webcams Logitech ClearChat Comfort USB Headset
Cables & power Monster Cable PowerProtect MP AV 600 6 Outlets Surge Suppressor
Speakers HP 2-piece USB Speakers

I'm pretty sure it can handle Skyrim, It costs 840.37 USD w/out the MS Office software, no monitor (my TV has a VGA port so it's all good).

There, now you have your target.

O, yah. and this isn't set in stone. I might spring for something else.

Yes.

This is why I will be playing it on one of our lab computers. 1/3 of them get replaced every year. While I do not know the specs exactly just yet I can safely estimate they will have top of the line components for the time they are ordered.

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 3.0 Ghz
Motherboard: Gigabyte P35 DS4
Video Card: Asus GTX260TOP
Memory: 3,5 Gb DDR2 667 MHz
Power supply: Coolermaster GX (?) 750 Watt
Hard drives: 160GB something-something at a speed of something
Sound card: Realtek something in the mobo
OS: Windows XP Home SP3
"Speakers": Cheap but loud NGS 2.1 system
Display: Samsung Syncmaster 225bw

I'd like to upgrade, but can't afford a substantial enough upgrade for it to be worthwhile, and don't think it's even necessary yet. I don't know [censored] about these things, how does that rig look (obsolete? fine? fine for years to come still? something?)?

I'll be playing on PS3, unless I somehow get enough money to get my PC good enough to play it.

I do intend on buying the PC version eventually though, but probably not for a year or so. :)

Power Supply : Corsair CMPSU-AX1200- 1200 Watt series power supply
SSD/Hard Drive : 128 GB A-DATA S599 Gaming Series Solid State Disk

In my sig but anyway...
CPU : Intel i7 970 @ 4.2GHz (6 core with hyperthreading)
Mobo : Asus P6T Deluxe V2
RAM : (You didn't mention it, you should) Corsair 6GB 2000MHz
GPU : Two GTX 570's
PSU : Corsair 850TX
SSD/HDD : 80GB Intel SSD, WD 1TB 7200RPM HDD
Screen : (Another thing you didn't mention) A 27 inch Asus 1920x1080 screen, thinking of getting two more but not likely

Also have a laptop, not sure if i'll be using it with skyrim though (Its the kinda game where you sit back in your chair and immerse yourself, not sit on the couch in daylight)
Its an MSI 660R, Its got an i7 740QM, GTX 285, 6GB 1333MHz ram, two 500GB 7200RPM HDD's, and a 1920x1080 HDMI screen.

Also if you don't mind me saying, that PSU is totally unnecessary... by the time you will need to use all that power, it will be dead... cant help but think you've just gone on newegg or something, found the most expensive stuff and copy and pasted it over, the way it says GDDR5 16x pci express and stuff which is the kinda unnecessary stuff that online site add onto the end of their products... I'm just like that lol.

Money well spent... I've had a 4890 before, fine cards. A lesson to the people who think you need to spend tons for a decent gaming desktop...
