Don't forget how much Gas was in Tactics. And internal combustion engines. Piles of fuel barrels...

Where in the game does it say the vehicles run on fossil fuel? Boomers in New Vegas have a bomber that runs on ethanol so it is logical the BoS in Tactics did the same with their vehicles. The barrels of oil just say "oil drum" again why does that mean it is full of fossil fuel oil? Can't it also just be bio-oil, synthetic oil or full of some other liquid. After all people put other liquids in oil drums. That raider base just simply says "fuel tank" well ethanol is a fuel is it not? There were raiders making gut roat so it isn't to hard to believe they could also make ethanol. Fallout 2 has a quest for you to get fuel for the tanker, does it mean Fallout 2 isn't canon.

People go to great lenghs to explain contradictions in Fallout 3 but they don't think to hard about explaining the ones in Tactics. I guess I am the only one :sadvaultboy:

Keep fighting your fight compatriot, they can take your canonicity but they cannot take your explainations!

And the hairy, talking Deathclaws, and the random model of Japanese anime-like power armor that just popped up out of nowhere.

Yes. 1 disc. Haven't bothered to look. Heard it was bad, like BoS. Only got BoS 'cause GameStop sold it to me for 2 dollars..

I wouldn't call Tactics a bad game, it just depends on what you like. I'm not a fan of tactical squad based games so it wasn't up my alley. I finished Tactics once and couldn't do a complete play through ever again, but that's because that type of game doesn't appeal to me. It still retains some RPG elements, you still get to create your character using the SPECIAL system and develop him or her over the course of the game, unfortunately conversations are one sided so there's not much interaction.

Tactics is basically Fallout 1/2 if you take away the quests and character interaction and focus solely on the combat, it's essentially a lengthy string of combat missions. The combat system is a huge improvement over the one seen in FO1/2, but if you play Fallout for the quests and role playing and not so much for the combat then you probably won't care for Tactics.

I will keep fighting for Tactics. Many of the inconsistencies that people say break canon can be explained in a simple logical way. I have had a very long time to think about them. IMO Fallout 3's inconsistencies are alot harder to explain and arn't simple or logical but I don't go around calling Fallout 3 not Canon.

And the hairy, talking Deathclaws, and the random model of Japanese anime-like power armor that just popped up out of nowhere.

I already explained about the Fuel.

Hairy Deathclaws = Sub Species. Devs of Fallout wanted more then one type of Deathclaw. Devs of Tactics went with that. I don't see the issue. Some can talk, so what? It doesn't make them as smart a the talking deathclaws in Fallout 2.

"Japanese anime-like power armour" Take a good look at the Enclave armour in Fallout 3

They are inconsistencies because they were not explained in game but that does not make them Canon Breaking.

Here is an inconsistency in Fallout 3 and New Vegas. Both games have GAS Stations :ahhh: No one gives a crap about that but Tactics has one and people yell "It isn't Canon!"

First Fallout I played was Fallout 3. I had been debating for months whether to get it or not. Every time I'd go to the game store I would see a used copy and think 'I really want to play that game but I don't like those kind of RPG games.' Finally my desire to play it outweighed my dislike for those kind of RPGS, and I got it. Another reason I wanted to play it is because it takes place in DC. Which is only a few hundred miles away from me and I have been there many times. At first I had no clue what I was doing while playing FO3, but I figured it out quickly enough. After that I was hooked, I purchased the Fallout Trilogy pack months before New Vegas was released. Then I played through 1 and 2. I still haven't played Fallout Tactics.

I think it was 1999 when my father bought Fallout 2 for me, started it, could hardly get anything at all (not knowing english or RPG's so well at that age) but it instantly clicked with me and I've loved it ever since. :fallout:
Aaaaaand now I'm constantly worried about the franchise ever since Bethesda released Fallout 3 and I fear that I might just have to let Fallout go if Fallout 4 is a horrible streamlined Elder Scrolls mess like FO3 was. :nope:

Haha Nice Thread.

Started with Fallout 1 and was totally addicted since then.
Best i remeber was the Day i get my Fallout 2 preorder...
I started it playing with a friend and were ending up in
7 Days Non-Stop playing till the end credits rolling.
Sometimes i took a nap sometimes him....
It was hillarious, you were so tired sometimes that u just stare on the screen for 30 minutes
doing nothing.
But the more tired u were the more intense it was. LOL
:celebration:

Best memorials of Fallout 2 for me was,
-The Wannamingo Mine
-New Reno and the Masticator
-The Kung Fu Fight- never expected that, but since we had invested
in close combat and Bare Hands it was Double Fun.
Ripping that Guy apart with the PALM STRIKE and the other Devastating Moves
you could unlock was unforgetable.

Yea, i've heard alot of bad things about BoS and tactics. Why I only got 1 and 2.

tactics is great because it doesnt totally "cook-cook" canon and gives you a great new faction and new lore but the burned game shall not be spoken in this place

Just curious why and when people got into Fallout.

For me it was 2009. Saw a friends' dad playing it. Thought it was the most ridiculous looking game ever. From the pip-boy icons, to the fact that I watched him sell baseballs and empty bottles for 5.56 ammo from a guy wearing overalls and a motorcycle helmet.
The week after I got it and couldn't stop playing it.

Oblivion => Fallout 3 => Fallout New Vegas => 11.11.11?

I had just got my 360 and was getting bored with gears of war and assassins creed. My friend told me that his friend said fallout 3 was good. So I looked at some gameplays and decided this game would be a waste of money and looked stupid. So I was on Amazon looking for a new game I was thinking call of duty 4. Seen fallout 3 on sale for forty dollars an I thought what the hell and bought it. Watching the opening scene got me intrigued what was this music doing with sweet armor. This turned out to be my favorite game and the music I could sing every word. Know I'm on the verge of buying the originals waiting for final dlcs to come out.

A week after the release of Fallout 1 a friend tossed me the game box and said "This game svcks, you can have it if you get a 6 pack for us to split" The rest is history.

I was gonna get the 6 pack anyway....

I was real bored around October in terms of games and just started renting new ones. Had no Idea what Fallout 3 was but it looked cool so I picked it up. Me and my buddy played the hell out of it, we returned it and I didn't play it for a long while after. Wanted to play the game again so I went out and bought it. I then played the hell out of it. Broken steel then came out and I got the wrong version by accident so i returned my game in frustration. I then wanted to play it AGAIN so I bought the GOTY and it's been on my shelf since where it won't ever move :celebration:

Fallout 3. I had no idea what Fallout was until it was mentioned in Game Informer that Bethesda had picked up the franchise and would be making a game to continue the legacy. When FO3 came out and I played it I was in shock and awe at how awesome, graphic, and gruesome it was. I could not put it down, and have probably killed off about a good half a year's worth of time of my life to it. This is why I play and love Fallout: Bethesda resurrected it.

started with tactics , i don't care what anyone says this game is a master piece , and well i guess they continued to FO 3 that was also amazing , the crude reality is what got me , no fluffy teddy bear stuff , raw violence , and fighting over resources - the wasteland

I saw the trailer for Fallout 3 in 08 before it came out and thought it looked pretty cool, but I didn't actually buy it for a few months after its release, even after I did buy it I didn't play it consistently for a while after that, I had never played a sandbox rpg like it before so I had no idea what I was doing. Actually my favorite Fallout memory so far is of me sneaking around the corner of Megaton scared out of my mind because I didn't know whether or not Deputy Weld was hostile or not. Well after that embarrassing little incident I started to get the hang of playing and just took off after that, I was still working a part time job back then so I had way more free time than I do now, and I swear I must have spent every free second of it playing that game.

After I did that for a few months I decided to check out the originals just to learn about the history of the game a little more and bought the trilogy pack form walmart for like ten bucks and got into playing them for awhile, didn't get blown away by the gameplay or anything like that but the story in them not to mention the humor was awesome.

Pre ordered New Vegas as soon as it was announced and got it a few days after it was released, all in all I've probably lost over two thousand hours of my life to Fallout and im still going strong :)

Haha that reminded me of my first time out in the wasteland. I had know idea where to go out of the vault. I stumbled right into d.c. and was almost killed instantly by raiders. Once I found megaton I was so scared to leave it took me so long I exhausted all options and finally had to go outside to do the quest for Lucy (if I remember right) and out in the wasteland I snuck everywhere until I figured out my style of play.

I first got into the Fallout series when I picked up a PC magazine with a demo of Fallout on it, and have been playing it since.
Heh I've still got the demo disc somewhere, which I can still get to play at least using compatibility mode. I've played every fallout game since including the one which shall not be mentioned.

I KNOW, Why don't you just skip fallout 4 and buy the next one that comes out after that will be made by obsidian. In fact why don't all the fan's of fallout who hate FO3 so much just do this. That way you don't have to get all angry about how your fallout is being destroyed and we don't have to have 100's of threads hearing about how Bethesda supposedly butchered the franchise. Alas that will not happen and I will be here seeing fallout 4 absolutely bashed to piece's.

If Bethesda hasn't learned anything from the forums and NV then yes, yes you will. :bunny:
