Argonians are the coolest looking race in my opinion and make for an excellent race to role-play with as well. Being able to breathe underwater is pretty sweet too!

They seem like awesome villains, but I just can't get into playing as a lizard. He won't seem like a real character IMO, but I also say that about orcs and elves too. But it's easy to see why people like them.

Because people want to play as something they could not be in real life, and an Argonian is about the farthest race from a Homo Sapien as is possible in TES.

I think for people new to the series they find playing a Lizard man extremely interesting, and they grow to understand it the most. So they keep playing it throughout the other games. I did this with Morrowind and Oblivion, but I'm going Breton or Nord with Skyrim. :shocking:

Have you seen many snakes ? Have you seen many reptiles or komodo in A FREAKING WINTER !!!! THE WHOLE POINT WITH LIZARDS AND SNAKES IS THAT THEIR PURPOSE IS TO MATE REPRODUCE SKIN AND OTHER STUFF IN VARM AREAS..

No cause its never gonna be explained its never gonna be justifed. Its just are that way

I like Argonians because their features are exotic and inherently menacing, which is cool.

I don't really get why everyone likes them either. When it comes to skills and attributes, theyre terrible, and to be quite frank, they look incredibly stupid in Oblivion. I think they look much better in Skyrim, though, and I may even play as one. I dont understand why most of you are tearing this guy's question apart, when all he wanted was to know reasons WHY you like them so much???

Argonians are one of the ten races that have been part of the story and lore tor years not to mention they are a totally different type of being we can roleplay as; they look awesome their exotic nature and culture is enough to draw interest in them. They just add something different and unique to what we would traditionally play as in a video game. They are just all around cool what's not to like?

I agree, their heads do make excellent trophies, but you gotta skin them first. Their ugly scales are better as armor.

Iksar warrior all the way, since about 2 weeks after the release of Kunark...You know, back when I was about 9.
Yeah, I grew up playing lizards in RPGs. I suppose it's just tradition.

Well i never played an Argonian, but as for Khajiit being my favorite Race i can see similarities that we like being unique and it's quite fun Role playing something other than a Human. I came to the point where i treat Khajiit just as normally as all the other Races even Humans, ignoring the fact that they are Big fuzzy Cats.

The great things with Argonians:

They're lizards. Everyone loves lizards, they have cool names like Comodo Dragon and Bearded Dragon, and beards are manly fancy.
You can have all sorts of creative names, such as Boots, and Wears-boots-on-his-feet or Deep-throat.
You can relate to dragons, and possibly even mate with them. The dragons might however fight back. Also makes the firebreath-shout even better.
A healthy diet.

Is it worth mentioning they conquered Morrowind?
