What's so great about Argonians?

Post » Wed Oct 19, 2011 12:19 pm

I have never seen any evidence to support such claims... Got any proof? Or are you just another person that heard something from someone who was in an argument were proof may/may not have been involved?

Yeah, they have sentient level brain function and a four chambered heart. Both require warm blood.
I always have proof, or at least evidence of every claim I make.

Not bashing people who like Argonians, but so many times I've read that people's first race in Skyrim will be an Argonian. I've seen polls where Argonians far outrank other races in terms of favoritism. What about wicked Dunmers or badass Nords? Why out of all the races, people pick the most (in my eyes) unlikely one? I mean, a cold-blooded lizard in an icy tundra? I can only lol at that.

People should know at this point. Why do a lot of people like Argonians? Because they're cool, that's the only response you'll ever get. I don't like Argonians much, but I understand why other people do. ^_^

Just the fact that they are in skyrim. Take a lizard and put it on a snowy mountain for a few hours. Now you've got a popsicle. Unless this happens with argonians, they are officially warm blooded.

There's already a thread like this in the TES series discussion: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1214011-why-do-people-like-argonians

No evidence or proof lies in the only thing that matters, then, the lore. Oh, and magic and the game is on Nirn, so no, warm blood is not required.... (also, where do they show an Argonian heart?)

Un likely, or most different from the average person attracts alot of people. Alot of people do not play a game to be thereselves, some do, some don't. You don't have to like the race, its called racism. You don't have to be the race...

You don't have to do anything you don't want because this... THIS IS SKYRIM!

Nothing is cool about them, they are slaves to my race, the master race, the Dunmer :D

Yes, that's precisely why we whooped the Dunmer and kicked them out of their own land. Also, from what I've heard, the Dunmer where in the process of freeing their slaves.

Also, inb4 "it was a cowardly/dirty/cheap move" no, it was strategy.

The concept of a lizard man is cool but they were always too harmless and pet-like. But in Oblivion everyone looked like a joke anyway.

where is your proof that argonians are cold blooded? there is no lore that even hints at them being cold blooded other than a single argonian in morrowind who did not like the cold (very very very shakey "proof" since anyone can hate the cold)

In Daggerfall Argonians were nasty things. By Oblivion they were just another kind of humanoid. I think that it would be interesting to role play an Argonian as something in between, not totally evil but very mistrustful of other humanoids and vice-versa. In Oblivion, the Ruined Tail mod was one of the best that I played.

Renegade shadowscale quest in Oblivion.

And if you say magic is why your argument is true (no lore backing that up, btw) then I could say the same thing. But the fact is that there is physical evidence of warm blooded Argonians.

Simply because they love that race or those characters?!

What is there NOT to understand i wonder, i never play anything other then an Imperial which will seem odd to so many but hey it's what we all like about TES, do and be what ever you want to be!

I think its the fact that I loved all reptilian things when I was little, and seeing the Argonian for the first time (In Oblivion) brought the inner kid out of me again!

There were no argonians in the Illiac Bay (if my memory serves me rightly), save the Player (if he chose to)
