What's so great about Argonians? : V

Not bashing people who like Argonians, but so many times I've read that people's first race in Skyrim will be an Argonian. I've seen polls where Argonians far outrank other races in terms of favoritism. What about wicked Dunmers or badass Nords? Why out of all the races, people pick the most (in my eyes) unlikely one? I mean, a cold-blooded lizard in an icy tundra? I can only lol at that.

honest question. not understanding is the first step to ignorance. if you already have a predisposition towards something why do you expect the opinion of another to alter that?

A lot of people (including me) choose their race based on how they look, while others feel the race will fit their playstyle or they like their lore.

The thing that makes Argonians someone's favourite race is the same reason why any race is someone's favourite. Personal preference.

Try playing as one once. Argonians are totally badass.

Why such an aggressive response?

I didn't say I found anything terribly bad about Argonians. They do make good thieves, but so do Khajiits. They can make great mages, too, but so do Altmer, Bretons, etc. And with Skyrim there is even less of a need to rely on racial advantages. I'm simply wondering what it is about Argonians that strike peoples' fancies.

You gotta be kidding. Have you not yet learned that people like different things, and that you sometimes aren't in the majority?

I like hip hop, and I barely know anyone else that does. You don't see me creating threads like "What's so great about metal?".

My favorite race is Imperial, and judging from the polls I'm in the minority. I couldn't care less about that Argonians top these polls. Go lizards.

personaly i like both beast races over the more convetional ones.

as for my choice od argonian for my first playthrough well, i see them as maybe having dragon blood in their ancestry somewere. though mine will be wereing fur armour for warmth. the main reason i started them was their desease resistence and pioson resistence. espetialy considering i started in the desease ifested world of Morrowind.

they also have a unique look (same goes for kajiit) the others are jst humans with pionty ears and some generic diffrences. (orcs a litle more distinct but generaly very humaniod) i never play the human races. thinking as a race we a rather useless.

When I said "What's so great about Argonians" I didn't mean "There's nothing great about Argonians". I am actually wondering what exactly people like about them. I want to know WHY because I don't know WHY.

I dint like them in ob because quite frankly they looked stupid imo...
But now bethesda has got them looking badass and i love the lore surrounding them. Il be playing a dunmer assasin for my first playthrough but definately a argonian on my second.
