I like assault rifles.

There are none in the game. The 5mm thing is ridiculous.

To be fair a properly modeled modern assault rifle would make every other weapon superfluous. An full auto Masksman Rifle would be the closest thing in Fallout NV..

I still prefer assault rifles, and there is one in the game, even if it is bad, he is not asking about our favorite weapon, just the class, the class is in FNV because one weapon is one, so it is available for choosing, I still prefer assault rifles.

Vance's 9mm SMG is a much much better weapon than the assault rifle. The 10mm SMG hits harder but is only for close in. The assault rifle is a joke.

I like a suppressed sniper rifle for distant targets
Hunting Shotgun or Automatic Rifle for close to medium range
Lucky or the Police Pistol for close range and restricted areas.

I do wish Josh throw in unique revolver that magically fire buckshot, air-bust missile/grenade launcher, energy weapon with ricochet projectile etc

Sounds like Judge Dredd's Lawgiver...though that's a semi-auto. It carries multiple ammo types that can be switched between by voice commands. You got incendiaries, explosive rounds, ricochet rounds, AP and even homing rounds. And if anyone but you tries to use it the thing blows up in thier face.

It's nearly as accurate and hits harder than the assault rifle. Has a 60 round mag.

The 10m is sweet. With hollow point ammo it is the solution for Cazadors. You can and should mod it for the larger mag which gives you 40 rounds.

The 12.7mm SMG, there is a pistol too, holds onlly 15 rounds but hits very hard, especially with hollow point ammo. AP ammo and it's a good last ditch Deathclaw solution.

Sniper class. Why? It makes me feel like the ghosts from SC and GR. I also love stealth and the "elite".

Loving the Hunting Rifle so far, never used it on my first playthrough. It is essentially a Varmint Rifle for big men and attractive people.

Was planning to use the Ratslayer, but now that I am level 10 there isn't really a point :P

But it doesn't have AP rounds.

Against anything with DT 5+ Assault Carbine with AP is better.

Definitely sniper. Ratslayer for low-level enemies, fully-modded hunting rifle for mid/high-levels, and anti-materiel for the ones I wouldn't touch with a 39.5' pole.

I run my Gun Skill up to 100 relatively as fast as I can. Plus Sneak; plus Perks.

Shotguns with the right amount in skills and the right perks you can be extremely deadly. Only bad thing is you can't kill from long range.

In terms of gun classes snipers. Love those bloody things. My favourite out of them would be the old scope-less bolt actions. Second has to be pump action shottys.

I voted sniper class,I love to sneak.
I tried to put a second vote in for pistols, mostly 10mm silenced for tighter spaces, but it didn't work.

10mm with a silencer + The Professional perk + high sneak skill work great indoors and "tight spaces".

Sniper/Pistol (not revolver) combo. They go well together.

My favourite guns character so far has been a pistol build, using the ranger sequoia, lucky, and hunting revolver. Pretty fun and classy.

I would like to be a sniper, but I have noticed that my antimaterial rifle cannot hit anything in vats - has anyone else come across this?
