What guns kills Deathclaws?

Excuse my ignorance, what is the "BAR" ?

OMG I CANT BELIEVE YOU WOUL ASK SUCH A QUESTION jk jk im kiding. The automatic rifle(BAR) is in the dead money DLC. was used during ww2 and the gun in Dead money looks exactly like it

your kidding right you can take down deathclaws but not cazadors there super easy any gun can take them out

I must test if bean bag works on cazadores, works = max 3 bullets / cazadore to KO. Then I'll be one happy dinner bell shotgunneer.

lol that is a good weapon my favorite is the lever action shotgun its epic even though it uses 20 guage

None that add weapons or buff the stats on vanilla ones, or buff any of my skills.

I ran my Guns skill up to 100 and my Repair to 90 just playing, and took the sniper type perks.

Just pick a nice, safe spot on the rocks, scope in on the Deathclaw and start plugging away. Sometimes you can even drop them in one shot if you get a sneak critical to the head.

If my Guns skill is high enough, the AMR works. However those things are fast enough that the Brush Gun is preferable as you can get off 3 or more shots in the time it takes to shoot the AMR.

Missle Launcher with HE can soften them up from a distance, especially if there is a group of them.

If you get caught off-guard by one (as in, less than two) the Multiplas Rifle makes a good short-range weapon... only if you use VATS and aim for the head, and preferably have Overcharge or better loaded.

Also, a Deathclaw is not dead until its head is severed or mutilated. Otherwise there's a chance you simply knocked it over instead of killing it.

Yah, Brush Gun with the special ammo rocks. The AMR isn't bad if you can sneak as it kills on one shot usually, maybe 2 for the mother and alpha.

My Veronica also has T-51b Power Armor


Outfit the sniper with all of the upgrades, and you have a silent way to reach out and touch someone from halfway across the map, at only half the weight of the Hunting Rifle. Plus, it took me forever to find the scope for the Hunting Rifle.

Don't get me wrong, I like the scoped hunter as well, but I love my sniper. And it's kind of funny because I thought the snipers in FO3 were svcky compared to some of the other weapons.

I'll have to try the Gauss Rifle in New Vegas when I'm ready for another playthrough. I never bothered with it on my first go around because I absolutely [bleep]-ing hated that thing in Fallout 3 (I was way in the minority, I suppose), and that prejudiced me against it in New Vegas..

What guns are best to kill deathclaws as i cannot kill them with my current type of guns, Can someone help?

alien blaster!!! if you don't have the wild wasteland perk, then pew pew which is a quest reward item. pew pew doesn't require special skill to use. when i maxed out the energy skill, i took out the legendary death claw with 3 shoots.

varmit rifle is absolute junk what are you trying to do get them killed telling them to use that gun

Sneak + range + ammo + better criticals + finesse + night time + cover = dead deathclaw easy on normal at level 16.

Same for, Better criticals + finesse + piercing strike + ninja + superslam + rolling pin not using sneak at 20+.

I kill deathclaws with the single shotgun from distance using slugs , that's the weakest shotgun in the game , so pretty much anything kills a deathclaw , you just need 100 guns , and if possible some perks to boost your firepower (bloody mess , shotgun surgeon , cowboy , etc)

The best way is to use stealth/sneak and mop them from distance though , it's the easiest way and you can do that even with a BB gun if you want to have fun with them , as you'll be able to lure some Deathclaws away from their group , and kill them one by one .

Otherwise just use your companions , and watch the show (if your charisma is high enough , and you can still drink absinthe to boost your charisma , the higher it is , the better will be your companions ) , Cassidy Rose is very mean with a Riot shotgun loaded with magnum buckshots or slugs and can take on a deathclaw easily if you give her some armour or help her slightly , just make sure she's not swarmed by multiple deathclaws , and help her a little , for instance with the bean bags ammo ( they slow the ennemy considerably , and your companion has all the time to kill them ) or with explosives

no i know the rules ok and the gun svcks you want them dead one shot one kill. ok varmit rifle bad choice its just a paper wieght your carrying around

.22 pistol. Deathclaws have a secret weakness- if you hit them into the base of the tail, every hit counts as critical. You just need to stay stealthed and keep the damage per hit low, because then the Deathclaws don't become alerted. Thick hide, you know. Just sneak up on a Deathclaw from behind and empty a clip of .22 into the base of the tail- works like a charm :)

The Varmint Rifle has a huge crit damage multiplier that if you can get better criticals and hollowpoints you can a lot of things in one shot with just sneak attacks.

A gun that even without better criticals can wipe out the deathclaws in and around quarry junction at level <14 in daylight.
Just put sneak and guns at 100, sneak and stay at range, give it a silencer then load it with AP 5.57 rounds.
It is easy on normal, one shots are to be frank only available with guns not available untill much later on following a linear path.
Require just the same perks + then some and use the same tactics.
The only difference is price, availability and that it only takes a few shots rather than one.

You were probably thinking about the Ratslayer which is a unique version of the varmint and has a high crit multiplier (5 i think ) .

Cause the default varmint rifles only have x1 crit like most other weapons according to fallout wiki
