what happend to good music on the radio?

I gotta say I freakin' loved Big Iron.

Also Black Mountain Radio was pretty hilarious. Tabitha and Rhonda's segments were better than anything Three Dog ever had to say.

same here, I would listen to BMR more often if it wasn't out of range a lot of the time.

ok if i have to hear johnny guitar one more time im gonna shoot the pip boy. *sighs* what happend to good radio on the game? i love three dog i know i can just shut it off but it's a great distraction from the horros of the in game music. i just miss the good ole catchy tunes of fallout three is all

Heathen! most of those "horrors" you speak of are from Mark Morgans original Fallout 1-2 sound track. a far superior game soundtrack compared to most modern games
but nothing quite matches Chrono Trigger's masterful soundtrack :)

Sinatra, Elvis, or Johnny Cash would have been awesome.

Sadly, all three are still popular enough to be too expensive to license I understand.

I'd choose Mr. New Vegas over Three Dog any day. Johnny Guitar is a drag though. I'd like a little more Ink Spots, a little less whiny songs like these:

- Johnny Guitar
- Love Me As Though There Were No Tomorrow
- Mad About The Boy
- Why Don't You Do It Right?

Indeed Obsidian, why don't you do it right?

I'm going to beat you for calling those two songs 'whiny' :verymad:

Well the last one kind of was whiny, but I fail to see how 'Love me as though there were no tomorrow' was whiny. There was no whining at all in the song, the lyrics were quite happy.

Mod it. That's what I did. Threw a bunch of 'Tallica on there. AiC too, some Zeppelin, a little AC/DC and Disturbed, some Staind and Chevelle for good measure. Makes for epic listening.

I generally just flip the radio on to check if Sinatra or Big Iron is on. Though sometimes I just get annoyed and put Manowar in the stereo.

Does music svcks? Not really, they are not bad and fits the MW well. Do I miss 3-Dog? Yeah, he is much funnier on the radio than the old man.

I miss the hell out of Three Dog his lines were great and the music was good too. I Don't Want to Set the World on Fire was just perfect for the setting. Most of the time in NV I just have Bon Jovi, Nickelback, or Eminem on

I just Radio-modded it, put all the FO3 tracks back in, and a bunch of other stuff too (Cash, Elvis etc). All in all got about 5 hours of good tracks on random, and it's much better than the default selection, which drove me mad after a week (testament to the FO3 soundtrack that, even after all those 100s of hours playing FO3, and the hundreds of hours playing FO:NV, it still sounds awesome.)

I DO miss 3Dog though... Mr New Vegas just boooooores me silly.

You deserve to have you're fallout NV taken away and given to a old person, so they can listen to oldies, instead of that trashy-[censored] music you listen to.

also, whoever posted the goodspring image, I been there before, and it was pretty cool.

Also, Jingle, Jangle, Jingle and Big Iron, is all good.

I liked the music selection in both games and would like to have the songs from both games together in FONV. I liked threedog as well and i do miss a few of threedogs songs i am sure there is a mod on Nexus that adds them in as well as some others, but i am a bit leary of doing so with all the nonsense about file sharing. I would much rather pay to have some added in as a DLC for a few bucks that way my conscience is clean and i still get the tunes, best of both worlds actually. SO how about it Bethesda i am waving a ten dollar bill with your name on it, make it so please, oh and hurry up too.

Cheap licencing for songs saves more money for everything else.

This, basically. Fo3's licensed soundtrack is better 'cause they had more money to spend on it. I never listen to the radio in NV anyway, but then I love a lot of the ambient music in this game so it's no great hardship.

The radio stations aren't wonderful though. They all have basically the same playlist. Ideally, Mojave should've been home to all the country music and Radio New Vegas the big band stuff. With Black Mountain Radio playing... whatever it is Nightkin like to listen to. Something distinct from the other two, anyway. But the song selection isn't really big enough to give each station a distinct musical identity.

Actually, if memory serves, Fallout 3's songs were largely dirt cheap or their copyright had expired.

Is that right? How interesting. Well, that's that explanation sunk then, in which case one wonders: if there's all this fabulous music from the thirties and forties available on the cheap, why is NV's selection so meagre? Maybe Sinatra and Dean Martin cost the bulk of the budget, leaving next-to-nothing for anything else, I dunno.

Gimme more upbeat or laidback jazz, blues and country. Not this annoying and depressing music.

Am I the only one who likes Johnny Guitar?
Seriously, the only song on that list that I don't like is Mad About the Boy.

If anything svcks, it's the DJ. Three Dog was always interesting, Mr. New Vegas is pretty bland. Black Mountain Radio's Tabitha is also interesting, but that radio is likely to die out over the course of the player's travels.

Sinatra and Dino are some pretty costly artists to use. Also, I think alot of it was they wanted to use songs on RNV that really embodied the 1960's Las Vegas.
