What happened to my archery skill?

Post » Thu Dec 08, 2011 8:12 am

I looked through the first few pages of the forum and didn't see any similar threads...

Yesterday as I was getting ready to end my game session I checked my skill and saw that something happened to cause my archery skill to drop all the way down to 15 (displayed in bold/red type). I'm leveled up to the mid-30's. I looked around trying to find some information to indicate why this has happened but nothing is obvious. Has anyone else seen this? Any suggestions to get myself cured or whatever to return the skill to normal?

Thanks in advance.

Did you go to jail? Skills lower if you go to jail. I am not sure how much they can go down, but they def go down.
Maybe try going into a temple and get a blessing. Maybe you are poisoned or have a disease that is hurting your Archery skill.
Those are just a couple of suggestions.

Take a cure poison and see if that helps.

Sounds like a disease, hit a temple. You don't lose skill points in jail, you just lose progress in the current rank.

It seems to be a bug (whether just display or actual stat decrease, I don't know). Skill should go back to the right value next time you level up in it. That is, if it's not because of disease.

Thanks everyone - sounds like my gaming session tonight will start off with going to the temple, then drinking a potion then potentially going out an shooting a bunch of stuff with my bow to level up.

If I am poisoned / diseased / cursed that's some pretty poor UI. I kind feel like I (my character) should be able to figure that out.

If its a bug... well its certainly not the first.

In the magic screen scroll down and you can look at all affects - magical, racial, etc, that are influencing you.
