What happened Bethesda ?! :(

I think the game owned. I also think Fallout 3 owned. Theres really nothing wrong with this game, bugs / glitches aside.

It's just fine for someone to like FO:3 or FO:NV more than the other and it does not mean someone it right or wrong about it. Each likes what they like and dissing someone because of their personal opinion is a bad idea here. So, stop looking down your noses at one another. And stop with the "OMG you are so wrong". If you don't agree you may say so but withhold the harsh words and judgments of one another.

Everyone does not have to agree and people will be allowed to state what they like most without fear of ridicule. The next folks to ridicule someone in this thread for liking FO:3 more or FO:NV more will be beat with a big stickwarned.

What if I ridicule myself for liking Fallout: New Vegas more than Fallout 3? Will I be beaten warned?

I think that what should happen is, on the game's main site, there should be a huge half-page banner. On every retail (in-store) version of the game, there should be a giant sticker. And if you can buy it online, you should have to read a very simple but very large disclaimer.

The banner, sticker, and disclaimer should all say the same thing.

They should both say:

THIS IS NOT FALLOUT 3.

Then, maybe - just maybe, I pray - people would stop comparing these two games!

But you take an extremist stance to it, if your profile is anything to go by.

And stop comparing one game to another, even if it has the same name in the title (you idiots who compare FO:NV to FO3? Yeah, I'm talking TO YOU).

As if to say that anyone who compares the two games is a lesser human being.

Saying something positive of Fallout 3 is a big no-no on the New Vegas boards. Just an FYI ;)

Modded Fallout 3 can be kick ass tyvm, in particular with the proper Broken Steel ending (or defeat the ending with free-play-after-mq),

SO NYAH!

Okay, but with all of the mods released for F3, people can anolyze those and make better mods than those, so wouldnt NV mods be just as better?

Where are the stories that made us live so intensively the main quest ?
Like Carrie Delaney and her tapes.....the story of Lamplight ?
Or the Keller Family...and the five transcripts ?
I'm enjoying New Vegas for what it is, but this part I agree with, it lacks character, I expected more depth with the tribes, but apart from running around doing quests for them, there is nothing else, no character, no depth, though the girl at sloan quary did a weak impersonation of Moira lol

No but if you snub someone for feeling differently about it or someone belittles you for thinking what you do....ban time. Sorry but it's just ok that folks don't all feel the same. If everyone just came to say, "you're right valkebus, you are so right valkebus, Right on valkebus, I couldn't agree more valkebus...." it would be a very boring world.

Different strokes for different folks and all that jazz. Be sure not to tell folks they are dim wits just because they don't see things your way. Get it?

On that note I'd appreciate it if you did something about GraniteDevil's profile.

I agree with OP,

Having to do the same few quests for each of the factions near the end was extremely annoying and boring...Theres only so many times I can do the same quests over and over.

Not having fast travel to main areas such as Lucky 38 etc also was annoying

Most of the locations on the map have nothing in them even on hardcoe, they are useless

IMO Playtime is less then FO3 (I spent over 700 hours on Fo3 making over 5 Characters, on F:NV I made 2 characters and played about 120 hours Completing all side quests and all 4 of the factions end quests and discovering all locations With hardcoe on with difficulty on Very hard)

Bugs etc Also let this game down but they have been mentioned a lot so I wont go into them

I sold my F:NV once I finished my 2nd play-though, knowing that I won't play it again as it started getting very boring

I really hope they improve upon the next one.

Don't read his profile, sorted.

On that note, perhaps a pm to a mod might have been a better course.

Whether it's in a profile or in a thread, it's still inflammatory.

The mods never respond to my PMs.

Let's not derail the topic over my side comment.

It was the same thing that happened when FO3 came out, everyone compared it to Oblivion because of the similarities, it will always happen.

That having been said, all I have to add is
FNV is Oblvion. With guns.

Nah. If we're going to go with that comparison route, Fallout 3 would be Oblivion with guns, and New Vegas would be Morrowind with guns (complex, deeper game.)

I really gotta rent this game again ( I'm not gonna purchase it until the goty edition comes out). I thought FO3 had a ton of depth to it. Then again they did just take FO3 as a template and just add to it so I would expect it to be better.

I'll second this. It's the finest RPG I've played since Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines.
