The Agent was not the Eternal Champion. The Emperor refers to you as his "champion" because of your pre-written backstory based on your race and class, regardless of how they actually go they always end up you doing a big favor for the Emperor, such as saving his friends from bandits, earning his gratitude (and the Ebony Dagger or whatever you chose in the quiz)
