What Happened to Single Player?

Post » Sun Jan 09, 2011 10:45 am

So what happened to the single player mode? Said Paul Wedgewood:

"This is a game that has been built from the outset as a heavily narrative-driven story by full-time writers."

And

"as compelling as any other triple-A shooter"

And

"Massive"

Playing the MP missions with AI bots isn't exactly any of those, really. Other than that, games fun.

It was hype. I was expecting a story akin to Quake Wars with cut-scenes, and that's what it looks like I'll be getting in 8 hours.

Sort of? What little story there is is explained via 1 or 2 minute cuts scenes.

I was kind of expecting SP to be like a roaming around the Arc style of play, really. Kind of svcks, they have a good setup, the Arc and all, for some sort of plot to be played but.

I want to know what happened to the graphics on the Xbox 360 version. It looks like a PS2 game. (Weird blur effect and non-loading textures). They said their day 1 patch would bring it up to standards with the others, something I'm simply not seeing.

They didnt bug test their console ports. When they showed demos at shows it was on the PC... with a 360 controller. So I wouldnt recommend anyone who wants it on the 360 to bother with the game yet.

Funny thing too, the PC version doesnt support controllers.

Its a shame they didnt use more of the Ark in the gameplay.. Its supposed to be huge but we only get to see like 2% of it and it seems that the people fighting are the only beings who exist on the Ark..
