What happened the Dunmers?

Post » Mon Nov 28, 2011 2:52 pm

Morrowind was destroyed and the Argonians took what was left of it, the Dumner are now refugees.

Seriously guys? It's a game not real life, please walk out side and get some fresh air... You aren't really a Dunmer, and you aren't really an Argonian... You are a human, simple as that... Stop deluding yourselves and walk out side even if it's raining and wake up... Your parents are more than likely scheduling a psychiatrist appointment so go show them you have some sanity left in you, Oblivion and Skyrim aren't real life, they are "VIDEO GAMES".

Why do you care what someone else does? honestly if someone wants to respond in character that's their business, if anyone needs to go to a psychiatrist its you friend for having the need to put someone down for no reason. Learn some manners.

It's called being smart, not a coward. They conquered the place without major loss because they striked at the right time.

That's a matter of opinion really. The Argonian nation (if you can call it that) has never been able to best a forign foe, be them the Dunmer or the Empire, having their armies utterly crushed every time they gathered. If your only victory is murdering those you come across in your wake, then your a coward.

Did you REALLY, need to make a long winded post about the painfully Obvious? from a glance its easy to tell you have -no- Idea why people are discussing this. me thinks you should take your own advice and replace game with Forum.

I think the Argonians can bite me to be honest, as stated THE DUNMER WERE IN THE MIDDLE OF CHANGING THEMSELVES FOR THE BETTER when they got the Karmic Biyth slap of the century, and the ONLY reason why the Argonians attacked was because of the selfish (semi selfish, self preservation and all that jazz) Hist Forced them to do it, otherwise those Mud lizards are quite happy in their parasite infested Stink pools, all that culture, all that history, the last race to have any meaningful connection to the Dwemer, Screwed over by 3 God Tards, naked yelling men, fat imperials, Daedric Princes, some insane guy in a cave, a floating rock, a Mega Volcano NOT TO MENTION the Dunmer left the other elves because they were persecuted for their beliefs

WOULD YOU NOT BE MAD AND HAVE A PERPETUAL GRUMP ON YOUR FACE WITH THAT HISTORY?

oh but the Lizards were ensalved booo hooo, its not like your land was occupied or anything.....you know like the Dunmer had, or that your practices were being scrutinized by foriegners....mmmmhhh

Eff the Argon losers. They have nothing in their history to be proud of other than licking trees and attacking a race undergoing a natural disaster. There's a coward for you.

I'm going to sack every lizard I find in Skyrim.

Um ... it is in the wiki.

Basically Morrowind is gone, as in ... gone. City of Vivec destroyed, volcano blown, etc. All gone.

Would love to see an updated official map of the hole that used to be Morrowind though.
And this is why never reading the source can lead to an incorrect answer.

Morrowind is NOT gone, rather Vvardenfell had Red Mountain blow its top, covering it in a few feet of ash even 40ish years after it exploded and the obvious lava. After that, the dunmer were pushed out of Morrowind by the argonians. To note, this was a long series of events that were just not the dunmer's years. They were raided by nords and orcs, a small civil war (if you let unofficial dev works count), the the Oblivion Crisis came (Redoran was horrifically beaten badly, and only Telvanni could slow it down, but not stop it), and the Ministry of Truth fell which caused Vivec City to become a crater and cause Red Mountain to erupt.

Since the latest TES book, ~40years after Oblivion, the argonians only incorporated portions of southern Morrowind as a part of Black Marsh. Likely, they were lands being disputed between Black Marsh and Dres.

And before all of you go complete and utter dunmer fanatic, this was judgement from Vivec.Your kind forgot Love. And banish all notions of honor. The dunmer's combat doctrine is all about fighting dirty, and that was one of the lessons Melphala taught the Chimer for [censored]s sake. Plus, it's only Redoran who thinks highly of a Cyrodiilic-ish code of honor, and even then, they were badly devastated from raids by nords who also brought orc buddies with them, and the Oblivion Crisis.

The general term "outlander" could have been applied to them when they left the Altmer*.

Truth is, I am surprised the Argonians attacked considering their history. Black Marsh is typically peaceful (Or at least not hostile) with the other provinces. The fact they cobbled together a invading force is even more shocking. While I don't think they could of done it had Morrowind not be battered by natural disasters. Disturbing, but I do not think that they are a significant fighting force in of themselves, but this radical change in demeanor is chilling indeed.

we attacked because some dunmer felled a couple of hist. and the hist temporarily took control of the argonian race and directed them to attack morrowind.

We?

Anyways, they attacked because in their 0-10000003 record in battle, they saw a golden op to kick a blind puppy to gain their first victory. Hell, if you wanna bring up the tree's, there's a ton of Argonian who think the whole Hist thing is silly according the lore I have read. I'm sure during that one sided battle about 1 of every 10 Args had that excuse to fuel them.

Vvardenfell is gone. The greater province remains, and is seized by the Argonian province of Black Marsh.

I'm guessing the "why" is simple. Most sentient races will take advantage over another when given the choice, whether is it the people as a whole nation or individuals within the nation. It was most likely a series of raids, burning and pillaging, the usual.

I'd be interested to know if it was "nationally sanctioned" though.

One would imagine, with the collapse of the empire, morrowind would've went straight back to slavery given there's no reason to curry favor with the empire anymore.

Better they secured their own emancipation than hoping imperial culture would stick post oblivion crisis.

Maybe some people do not realize that Morrowind is not gone, only Vvardenfell which is part of Morrowind. The mainland is still intact.

Because nords used to hold Morrowind, but were kicked out by the dwemer and chimer. They've been hassling Morrowind ever since, but occasionally include orsimer mercenaries, because orcs are pretty badass and similar to the nords.

And Vvardenfell is still around, just covered in a [censored] tone of ash and hardening lava.

yah because the Dunmer would have helped the argonians if they had a similar disaster.... not really

and you know what they say.... pay back is a [censored]

most Logical Awenser here

-Alternate Universe were Black Marsh was destroyed-
dunmer would be jumping at the chance at gaining new slaves,

But i want to say im sorry for all the Dunmer who were against Slavery and got caught up in the Mix...
Its honest payback, a long grudge that had to be settle. Good people died, and the Argonians got there revenge for years of being enslaved...thats life

and Dunmer if you think you got it bad, look at the Orcs

Why all the dunmer-hate? I think it's a pity what happened to Vvardenfell... And I find it hard to believe that argonians could invade ANYTHING... guess the Red Year made the dunmer vulnerable enough for the argonians to actually gather their nerve for once... Pfah! I feel no pity for the argonian or khajiit slaves of Morrowind, they're little more than house-pets, after all... I don't cry out for their equal rights, but neither do I hunt them for sport.
