I'm sorry, I looked this up on the UESP or whatever it's called, but I would just like to clear some things up.

At the time when Skyrim is released, what is the status of Morrowind and the Dunmers? I believe the Argonians conquer it, was there a war? Did the Nords also attack?

Morrowind is gone, the Dunmer are refugees.

Argonians took over what was left of Morrowind.

Nords haven't been bothered by Argonians as far as I know.

Basically Morrowind is gone, as in ... gone. City of Vivec destroyed, volcano blown, etc. All gone.

Would love to see an updated official map of the hole that used to be Morrowind though.

I heard the argonians conquered the mainland in order to free their captive brethren and the island of Vvardenfell is a crater after the red mountain exploded....from the sounds of it, its like Krakatoa

karma dealt them an almighty backhand they treated every race like crap mostly the argonians. and they eventually pulled the last straw when they felled a few hist (sentient trees that are seen as gods to the argonians) and so the argonians attacked morrowind in a striking show of force eventually sacking all of morrowind and turning the dunmer into refugees and enslaving the ones that didnt flee. i kinda feel sorry for the dunmer but they brought it upon themselves.

Well to be fair we do not know what happened to them yet as far as Skyrim's timeline goes. We know that 160 years prior to that things were not going so well. Solstheim is probably the new home of the Moriche (Dunmer).

how does attacking a people struck by disaster equal an honest victory? Those dirty lizards took advantage of a situation they had no part of creating, they are not strong, merely cowards waiting for a chance to strike. My Dunmer will hunt every single dirty scale covered filth in skyrim down and teach him his and all his race's rightful place, as slaves to the dunmer.

the dunmer earned what they got and besides the sacking of morrowind happened long ago in skyrims timeline by now solstheim has become there home.

Well here is a shot to explain what happened.

The Dunmer enslaved and oppressed the Argonians for hundreds of years and the Argonians AND the Hist were powerless to do anything until the Dunmer decided to begin changing their ways. Houses Hlaalu and Dres fought a bloody civil war against Indoril and Redoran to abolish Slavery. The Dunmer were becming better people and were probably about to become decent intelligent beings in terms of personality. The Argonians and Hist couldn't do anything about being dominated by the Dunmer until they were enabled by political change, cultural change, religious disaster, and Daedric disaster after Daedric disaster. After the Dunmer got Efffed up by the events of Red Mountain blah blah blah the Argonians recognized weakness and invaded. Morrowind gets effed over but not destroyed and certainly is not a hole in the ground. Sul was walking around just on the outskirts of Vivec City(now the Scathing Bay) in Lord of Souls.

Yay Argonians!!! Way to be the better species. You are just as bad as the slaving Dunmer now. Woo-hoo...still like both races but I am a little disappointed in the Argonians. But cannot really blame all of them. The An-Xiheel and the Hist are to blame. The Argonians did have a chance to end the hate between the two races but chose to instead go for petty revenge, Tis a shame but peace is boring in these games so bring on the war I suppose.

Both are great races.

Love em both and will have two playthroughs as both. Neither is better and events do not change that.
