What happened to the KOTN?

Post » Mon May 07, 2012 11:21 pm

This has really bugged me for a while.
But happend to the KOTN since oblivion?
Do they still have the relics? Are they hunted by the Thalmor?
Is there any chance we will see them again?

Dunno lol.

But there is a chance Sheogorath is chilling with the relics in his realm laughing uproariously at all the Aedra that he has their favorite toys....

After the COC disappeared in the Shivering Isles, they probably fell to petty squabbling over the relics just like they did the first time around. If they survived up to around 4E 171, they would've been swallowed up in The Great War. Their HQ was in the territory held by the Dominion.

Would love to see some DLC for Skyrim to get out hands on Pelinal's arms and armour again; even if it's in a less than stellar condition.

I'm absolutely positive the Thalmor hunted them down, they posses the armor of the greatest Mer killer there ever was. That definitely makes them a target and Im sure the Thalmor want too remove anything Lorkhan related.

So you are saying that one of the KoTN suited up with the full crusader relics and beat the crap out of the Thalmor then? Yeah...I went out on a limb...and severed several others...

Seriously...I think the Thalmor would go for them but how successful would they be if there had been a successor to the Relics? It would be hilarious if http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Areldur was leading the fight in the Crusaders Relics...I think Pelinal would turn over in his grave...

No, dying out implies that they were relevant.

It's obvious. Some random imperial got his hands on the armor, fell into a void, and ended up in 1st era Cyrodiil.

Joking aside, there is that one KotN body way up in the northern icebergs of Skyrim. Whether he was adventuring or fleeing from the Thalmor is unknown though.

Well, to be specific here, there's a SKELETON way up in the northern reaches of Skyrim with a KOTN book.......I'd love to believe that skeleton was a Knight....but we might need a little more supporting evidence.

A skeleton with a sword and one hand on a tattered golden pennant. Granted this isn't proof, but the first thing I thought on finding it was 'this is a Knight'. It's obviously intended to be some sort of lost knight errant, whether or not it was one of the KotN.

There's also a book in a giant's cave near whiterun. Right next to the ruined bridged towers housing the bandits the try rob you on the highway.

The dominion had control of that part of the country for awhile. I doubt even they would be able to destroy those relics, but they wouldn't leave them to men either. If I were them I would have taken those relics back to Alinor during the retreat.

Depends who found them i think. Many of the Altmer do not like the Thalmor. Still chuckling inside at the idea of http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Areldur taking up the relics and beating the crap out of the Thalmor...

It would be nice if Beth decided to give us some clues on what happend.
Although, to be honest , I would be amazed that the order survived.
Mostly likely they were hunted down around priory.

I think those Skeletons are clues. It saddens me but I think everyone I painstakingly kept alive in the KoTN quest all died or none of their descendents survived to see my triumphant return from the grips of madness. Or maybe they combined with the Vigilants of Stendarr. Who knows?

BTW anyone try to RP Pelinal yet?

I tried but after mistakenly attempting to kill these cat like Mer people at lvl 5 I kept getting my butt kicked. I think I am doing a pretty good job so far.

I hope Beth brings them back though.
I have this vision of the Divine Crusader leading the first wave against Alinor in TES:VI.

Assuming the KotN survived until the war, it seems unlikely they would just leave relics like that lying around in the priory to be found, and since we (afaik) hear nothing that mentions their use in that war it doesn't seem to unfair to assume the relics have been moved elsewhere and are not under Thalmor control.

It would be rather strange however if they would not have been the first to fight against the Thalmor. Knights of the Nine certainly implies that they believe in Talos. I'll accept that the faith of the relics is completely unknown, but it seems incredibly unlikely that even one of the crusaders is still alive.

For all we know the last surviving members each retreated north with a piece of the Crusader's Relics, in hopes that some day a worthy hero may travel across the land and discover them.

Aside from the circumstances of their refounding, they're just another order of knights.
