What happened to the north? (what do you think)

Post » Fri May 04, 2012 5:14 pm

I know that in the Fallout-verse shortly before the great war America annexed Canada but after that it seems to drop off the map (its like the world ended or something) but i all seriousness what do you think happened in the north because save for a few minor allusions to it in previous games so I just want to hear what some of your theories on it are.

Im thinking that Canada might have been hit with nukes or not even. Remanats of the former U.S military will probably take control of Canada and impose rule over them. Canadians will probaly try to revolt and drive them out. Thats what i think.

All cities and centers of population nuked, a lot of the wildlife is killed by fallout, same as everywhere.

I'd think that there would still be some wilderness. Most of the major cities are in the south near the border and there is a lot of uninhabited space. It makes little sense to nuke areas that have no human life within 300 miles.

Well fallout would go across the world, that is what I am saying. There would be no need for nukes there. The fallout would cause diseases and poison food. And I said most not all

Those of us in Chattsworth township whom weren't touched at all by the nukes, drive out the Enclave forces, reclaim Canada and replant trees from coast-to-coast.

You're welcome.

America only officially annexed Canada before the Great War. They were having their way with Canada for about 10 years before that.

Canada was nuked to hell along with the rest of the world. Most of Canada's population is along the border of America, so most of Canada would be depopulated.

I would imagine Canada to be alot like America. Tribes rebuilding as best as they can forming their own nations and city states.

Well, Badger in FO2 came to San Fran from Canada. So, people lived. It probably wasn't as heavily nuked as urban USA cities, but still nuked.

Badger is Canadian? I know Marge LeBarge is Canadian. She is apparently from the Yukon so I guess there are still people alive that far north.

Yep, but I can't remember if Badgers girlfriend was Canadian, too. She could of been, cuz if Badger killed she freaks out about knowing no one or no place to go. Maybe CO takes her to New Arroyo.

Well, there's a lot of weird and possibly supernatural stuff going on up there, but luckily we got the big a*s wall and the nightwatchers to protect us. But still!

Ronto creates an army and the Snake-Eyes take over most the land and live like tribals.

Apparently Ronto is somewhat powerful as Ashur preaches about how they should be jealous of the Pitt.

I'd love to see Ronto.
Sadly I doubt we'll ever go to their capital unless we get a map node system. :(

With how they do things, the only way I see it getting done while keeping the game in the normal US boundaries, they would have to set the game in Buffalo.

Concerning Ronto, maybe they wouldn't even have to got up into Canada. It could be, Buffalo, NY is taken by them already?

Quite possibly, we've seen the NCR and Caesar's Legion build nation's Ronto could be a similiar. And it is of some renown as mentioned prior Ashur from Pittsburgh mentions Ronto.

Why would nukes be shot far North? Yukon, North West Territories ext. From what I would think people would be smart and fleeing up there as that would be the best chance to survive and avoid a nuke.
Places such as B.C I would imagine would be taken over by the U.S for this key location bays and access to Alaska. So goodbye that place. Though Rural areas should not have been touched by much.
If there is a Nuclear war I'll let you know if the North was touched by anything. =)

it would be very interesting to hear of U.S forces that survived and still live to this day. At war fighting off the Canadains who are trying tp push them down south. Who knows maybe they already have, maybe there is now U.S force left. None know for sure. I just don't think they would be strolling around with a U.S patch up there after the war.

Places like the Canadian territories would be nuked because there are population centers up there. There are military and naval bases and I would imagine missile silos as well as radar stations.

Surviving up there isn't that easy. Most of the people that live up there have to get their stuff shipped, ice roaded in or flown in. Don't get me wrong I feel they have a greater knowledge to survive up there, but the winters would take their toll. Also the radiation would kill most of the wild life making hunting pointless. Nuclear Winter would just be hell up there.

You sound like you are talking about the North pole or the far, far north of Nunavut.

-This pretty much.

But then the Canooks (I mean that in the most affectionate way :D ) are ressourcefull.

Besides I dont see a point bombing something desolate, which would also be the saving grace of some parts of Australia, Russia, Africa and China.
