What happens to my soul? *Spoilers*

Post » Fri Nov 18, 2011 2:50 pm

When I play RPG's, I play according to lore with some role-playing in the mix and I find myself a little confused with some conflicting information regarding my soul in the afterlife.

Situation:
I recently started the Thieves' Guild quest line, and I'm up to the part where you join the ranks of the Nightingale, and the catch of being said Nightingale was to serve Nocturnal in life and death defending her shrines. (Not like there was an option to say no >.>)
Well it just so happens that I'm a werewolf as well. And from what I've gathered (from Bloodmoon and Skyrim logic) when werewolves die, they serve Hircine at the "Hunting Grounds" (Hircine's Plane of Oblivion) as one of his hounds.

So the question remains: what happens to my soul? Do I go with Hircine? Nocturnal? or something special happens being a Dragonborn where I override all daedra?

Whichever came first, or inhabits the strongest trait.

I'd say Hircine gets president.

Oh damn, this is a tricky one. I foresee an argument between Hircine and Nocturnal in the Daedric Court over the soul of the individual. It's a contradicting idea in a way because whomever serves Nocturnal...well, serves her for eternity and being a nightingale is just that. But being a werewolf means you have the spirit of the wolf within you(Bloodmoon throwback anyone?) and that gives Hircine a foothold over your soul. It's part of you, your alter ego.

And don't bring dragonborn into this, he's cool and all, but not that cool.

Haha yes! That was one of the first things I thought of; Hircine and Nocturnal arguing over who gets my characters soul. Hopefully Hircine gets precedence, having married Aela and all (werewolf mates for eternity :)).

Actually I'd say that's the perfect response. You have the soul of a dragon. Actually not just one, which would be powerful enough on its own, but several of them.

I'd say dragon souls don't go to a Daedric realm on death, they just get recycled to come back to Mundus at a later point (similar to Daedra getting recycled back to their Oblivion realm).
Spoiler
Alduin is able to bring the dead dragons back to life, which would tells me their souls don't go through the normal mortal-death processes. The dragonborn absorbing a dragon soul is the only way to truly kill one forever, and I'd wager that's because it's irreversibly combined with his own, making his soul even stronger.

I mean, could you imagine a dragon soul (with the strength of 60) popping up in a Daedric realm? It'd probably be stronger than the Prince itself.

But....the Prince is the realm. Dargons aren't gods after all.

Um. Hircine overrides that according to everything explained in the Companions Quest line.

Maybe not one, but what about a soul as strong as 50+ dragons? That can't be good for a Daedric Prince. The last time we had someone who had a strong dragon soul, he became a divine.

I haven't done that questline yet, so I could be wrong, but when you finish the MQ, you get a very special invitation to Sovengarde, which I think probably trumps anything else. This isn't going to be the run-of-the-mill death.

Eh, I rather spend eternity in Hircine's hunting grounds. Chasing prey and ripping them apart and devouring their intestines! I choose that over drinking mead every day. But I guess Sovngarde has the fellowship of nords. Maybe there is a pack mentality in Hircine's realm, but I guess Sovngarde has a sense of fellowship instead of hunting and killing.

Hunting groungs would be nice...Would keep me entertained. And I generally like Nocturnal. Not really a fan of mead, though. Though I'd much rather sneak into Azura's realm. That'd be nice. :whistling:

You assume that you're the one doing the hunting. That's cute.

Sometimes being the hunted is even more fun than being the hunter.

How amusing, you actually think I would like to go to Hircine's realm absent my own Lycanthropy? Yeah right. Ever see Prince Attrebus and Sul hunt werewolves in Hircine's realm? ;)

Sometimes being the hunted is even more fun than being the hunter.

Not when the hunted always gets the end of the spear or the jaw of a wolf.

Neither will get your soul. Vile will make a deal with them both and claim you for himself.
