So what happens to the Ghouls in the rocket?

I started my first playthrough of FO:NV last week and I just completed the quest where you help the ghouls fly off on a rocket. And, I've got to admit, I'm a little disappointed after completing this quest. I was kind of hoping they'd be end up like the Challenger Space Shuttle back in the 80's, and blow themselves into tiny, little radioactive bits. But no, sadly they just flew away in a very cool Buck Rogers rocket. So, will I ever get to find out what happened to them? Hopefully I'll come across a debris field out in the Mojave at some point in the future, or do they just fly off into the wild blue yonder without us ever finding out what happened to them?

Depending on other choices you make while you play the game, they may show up in the game-ending slideshow. Otherwise, they made it to the Far Beyond and lived happily ever after (presumably).

But if you really want to see them crash and burn, you can complete the quest in a way that brings this about.

I was reasonably sure I could sabotage them, but I'm playing a "good" guy, and was kind of hoping for an accident. I figured stupid ghouls + 300 year old rocket = spectacularly dead ghouls. But, alas I was disappointed.

I've heard a lot of people praise that quest as being the best in the game.

I actually hate it, and dread it on every play-through. I might just kill them all as soon as I walk in this time.

So far its been my favorite in the game. But, I think I've only completed like 4 actual quests so far so I'm far from an expert. I do think the invisible blue Supermutant things were pretty cool. And, for some reason I've never really liked being mean to Ghouls. So it was nice to help them.

No matter what choice you make (sabotage or not) its a very safe bet they ended up as a smoldering debris field somewhere.

I like the quest, although I too was thinking I should be trying to talk them out of this crazy idea. But who knows?
