So what happens to me when I die?

Post » Thu Dec 15, 2011 9:14 pm

A knock-down drag-out fight between the Gods for the ownership of your soul. It will be epic.

That's one hell of an ego boost.

Sithis is by far the most powerful, not the place you really want to end out in tho... the void... I think the true answer tho is you're really one person living out the roles of multiple other people =P. But If you don't accept that and still want to go with all the aedra/deadra and Sithis as the options then Sithis usually over-rides all the rest since he is above the rest of the gods minus Anu who he is on par with. You have to consider that the souls of anybody assassinated by the Dark Brotherhood as contract kills are always claimed by Sithis irrelevant of what god/deities that person actually prayed too/followed.

Ahh well, Lucien makes it not sound ALL that bad :P

He seems quite happy in the Void, lol.

> Sithis is by far the most powerful,

Keep in mind that the "Sithis" of the Dark Brotherhood is most likely Mephala hamming it up.

Of course, the usual response to something like this is a dragon break - all of these endings become simultaneously true.

(That probably wasn't what the devs had in mind, but given that Akatosh-by-whatever-name is involved, well...)

I only "sold my soul" once, so it's pretty obvious for me. I'll end up going to Hircine's hunting grounds. As for you, you're... you get the point.

Well I doubt the gods would have an all out brawl over you, but I wouldn't be surprised if they made some kind of bet to win your soul - i.e. whomever's minions could kill x amount of people in 3 days would get your soul, or something like that. In that case it would come down to the nature of the bet and which god's strengths apply most to it. They can be pretty crafty, so you'd probably get more than a coin toss, but I doubt that they would personally engage in combat with one another.

You soul will literally split, thus, giving you quite a few consciousnesses at the same time. The pain will be unbearable, and you will never be able to focus as you will be aware of them all at them same time, not being able to tell which vision/sound/feeling/smell/taste comes from where... and that's not even counting the senses that mortal bodies do not have...

TL:DR you're pretty much [censored]

If you're soul splits, you're pretty much emulating an aedra with their "multiple personalities".
You're not one though.

I guess they'll have to draw straws.

After playing the DB I wouldn't mind serving him either

seems to me like you′re [censored]
purgatory for you my friend XD

or perhaps all the religions are exactly that
just religions

in reality there′s dozens of religions all very contradictory
at best one of them can be true

so perhaps only one of these gods is actually real
or a few
or none at all

no way to tell
perhaps every interaction with the gods you have in the game are just delusions on your part

There's an easy answer to that one, yet albeit spoily:
Spoiler
The CHIM.

My soul used to belong to dozens of gods and daedric lords, then I took an arrow in the knee.

Each of the daedra princes gets a piece of you unless you beat them up one by one and make them relinquish their claims at which point the nine divines gives you the thumbs up and add you to their guild.

I believe that you have to live (die?) up to every one of the pledges.
Seeing as you only have one soul, you'd either have to:
  • Serve each prince/deity periodically, roaming from plane to plane.
  • Ascend to become your own God.
  • Be won over by the prince/deity who exerts the greatest power to attain your soul.
  • What ofnir said.

I think I like the first two ideas best.

Sithis is nothing, Sithis does not exist...

You can't owe your soul to Sithis, a daedra taking your soul is the most tangible thing you will get to serving Sithis...

How about - all of them? Your soul splits and each part goes to different afterlifes.

Who does Lucien serve now in death then? (Just curious)

This makes me think of Constantine, where Constantine sells his soul to THREE different lords of Hell and then flips them off, daring any one of them to try to actually take it. Hilarious

Speculation of course, but I'm guessing a paradox like that would just unravel and straighten itself out.
Creating a realm for your character in Oblivion which serves all those entitled afterlifes.
Or maybe create a gateway to which your character could pass freely between the different dimensions/realms.

I personally don't think Sithis, Hircine or Nocturnal would fight over you and neither do I think your soul would be split apart.
