I mean, spawn it in you're inventory, place it around the game world (vending machines, stores, etc.), what will happen? will there be more all over the wasteland?

To answer the, uh, OP question... what would make you think that? All that would happen is that it would sit there, in the machine, doing... Quantum stuff.

but seriously, if youre not on the pc and youre not using special console commands youre not getting nuka cola quantums in FONV

If you're on the PC use console commands to create as many quantums as you want otherwise they WILL NOT SPAWN in New Vegas in a standard game

again, if you're referring to playing Fallout 3 and NOT Fallout New Vegas then go to the Fallout 3 forums

otherwise if you're already referring to using console commands to spawn them in New Vegas and are wondering what happens when you leave them places the answer is a big Nothing since you're only creating an item that's already coded into the game and not changing any other programming

I haven't tried spawning it in my game, but since none of the containers have it in their lists of things to spawn inside, it shall never spawn naturally unless modded in.

Nothing will happen, it will show up in the vendors list until the next refresh then it will be gone again. to make it show up in the Mojave you would have to edit leveled lists and manually place the objects. for them to actually appear in game
