What hardware will you use to play Skyrim?

Post » Wed Jun 15, 2011 12:39 am

lol u got 2 be [censored]itng me xD 1 a 2600k at 5.8 GHZ ? Even proffesionals can only get the clock up to 4.8 stable 2 a wuad SLI of Nvidia geforce 590 ? that righ will have like 400 fps on skyrim with mods xD

1. ummmm 4.8? the multipliers limits are 57, without liquid cooling, my friend got 5.5 on his, and the intel test mules went up to 6.7. but i did have it overclocked by an intel technician so that might have helped. but even YouTube has videos of it running at 5.5 so idk man.

2. and ya, on crisis 2 with everything at max(1600p, 16xAA,v-sync,ultra high texture quality) i get 120 FPS(becasue it wont render higher than that, i tried) :sadvaultboy:

so ya Skyrim will run just fine  even with some massive modding, like the ones i have for oblivion, all 109 of them, but that doesn't include textures mods so its more like 250-300

I'll fill in the hardware minimum & recommended requirements for PC under here as fast as I know what it is, he he.
.
.
.

So what hardware will you be playing on?

Myself hope to enjoy the game on:
Intel® Core™ i5 CPU M 450 @ 2.40GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.4GHz
Memory: 4096MB RAM

DirectX Version: DirectX 11
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870, 1024MB GDDR5
... if possible, he he. Got no idea!

I too own th G73jh (Only with the better CPU and 6gb RAM) :D But thoose of us who owns such a laptop should have no worries of being able to play this game. Atleast i hope not... That would be alot from bethesda to ask from our computers...

I've had this PC-frankenstein for some time now. I've added some pieces in the last few months, not necessarily for Skyrim, since I could have played it before those upgrades on max anyways.

My rig:

i7 Extreme 980X(3.33GHz)

8GB DDR3 RAM

Nvidia GTX 580

Windows 7 64bit

Edit- And yes, I realize 6 cores is ridiculous overkill....

You should add a "I don't know" option under the "Are you buying new hardware to play Skyrim on?" question... for well, obvious reasons - we don't know the system requirements yet so we therefore can't really know if we're gonna buy a new PC or not yet.

I'd imagine them to be slightly higher than Oblivion's, but again new engine and what not so we don't know for sure. If you can run any recent game from the past few years at a decent quality level then you should be fine as this isn't going to be something requiring high-end hardware after all.

I believe even my laptop has better hardware then Xbox 360, so I assume the game will run smooth enough for most people, hopefully.

Hope they program it well..

I'm going to be using my 360S. It is potent enough for what I want (the triple core processor is nice), even though there are many graphics cards out there that will outperform Xbox's, it is still top of the line (along with the PS3's graphics card) as far as consoles are concerned (ATI Xenos 10 MB of eDRAM for those who are/were curious...). I'm a console gamer, so I have what I like already hooked up to my 32" Flat LCD screen.

It's gonna be swell! lol

I just built one to better run new newer games like The Witcher 2.

Windows 7 64

Asus Crosshair IV

AMD Phenom II 6 core 1100T 3.3Ghz

8GB DDR3 2000Mhz RAM

ATI Radeon HD 6970 2GB 900Mhz

128GB SSD 410/210

2TB HDD

850W Gold Rated

It plays TW2 at max settings on 55" 1080p at a flawless 60fps. I think it will probably do for TESV. :brokencomputer:
Although I may still add another card in crossfire... not sure if I will really have a need for it.

I'm a PC/PS3 gamer, and I also have both hooked up to my 42" flat screen LED.

My eyes might not last me long..... But it's worth it, right?

Xbox360.
I'll eventually get a better PC, and when I do I definitely plan on buying this game for that platform as well. But until then, I'll enjoy it on my current console.

(Hopefully) Bulldozer 8 core
8 Gb ddr3 1600
HD 5850

Right now I have a Phenom II x3 720, but I've saved the money to upgrade. Sandy Bridge looks better and better every day I have to wait though.

I'll be playing on both console and pc.. Usually buy for console first so I don't get distracted with mods, cheats, what not. I usually wait for the GOTY edition for pc.

pc specs are
windows 7 64
intel core i7
8gigs ram
ati hd4650 Not the best graphics card but I found if I just turn antializing off I can play any recent game on it's highest specs. I have no idea what antializing does other than make all my games drop drastically in frame rate.

I didn't want to wait till the fall for the Bulldozer... so I built now. But yeah it looks like it will be very nice. Why don't you get faster ram to go with that though...?

you could go for an Ivy Bridge in November/ December, im getting one, even though i definitively don't need it, it will be 8 cores and all of those and ~6.4 GHZ , and likely at the same if not a slightly higher pricepoint than a 2600k (which is only $314)

I've never liked AMDs, and while the bulldozer sounds really nice, they've been teasing it seemingly forever, and its still not out, and probably won't be out by November.

Here's what I've got:

Motherboard: TA790GX 128M
CPU: Phenom 9550 BE @ 2.6GHz
Graphics Card: Sapphire 4850 1gb GDDR 3
4gb DDR2 RAM
Sharp 19" monitor (1360x768)

Yeah, nothing to brag about there, but I'm pretty cheap when it comes to this stuff, and I can max out New Vegas at 60fps with this setup, so I'm probably not upgrading. If I get Skyrim and it runs like crap for some reason, then I'll get a new graphics card.
