What hardware will you use to play Skyrim?

Post » Tue Jun 14, 2011 9:33 pm

Here's what I've got:

Motherboard: TA790GX 128M
CPU: Phenom 9550 BE @ 2.6GHz
Graphics Card: Sapphire 4850 1gb GDDR 3
4gb DDR2 RAM
Sharp 19" monitor (1360x768)

Yeah, nothing to brag about there, but I'm pretty cheap when it comes to this stuff, and I can max out New Vegas at 60fps with this setup, so I'm probably not upgrading. If I get Skyrim and it runs like crap for some reason, then I'll get a new graphics card.

Yeah... or new ram.

X4 3.2 955
5830 (yeah don't ask, I got it super cheap, nearly 1/2 price )
4GB DDR3 1600 c8 (I want to add 4GB more, but for some reason my sticks cost 50quid now, but I only paid 36 for mine.. :/.. waiting )

mediocre cheapness, I was penny pinching because I splashed out for another big monitor

Just ordered my 560 Ti yesterday. It's mainly for Skyrim, but an upgrade is overdue anyway.
Won't get anything else, though.

i voted ATI for graphics card but in actuality ill be buying a AMD card because AMD bought ATI and the new 6000 series uses the AMD name. i plan on getting the 6870 model and later running 2 in crossfire when the price drops some.

PC for me all the way. My first TES game was Morrowind on the console. Then I moved onto Oblivion for the Xbox 360. When I saw a friend playing Oblivion on her PC and it looked very different from my console version, I was astounded and immediately moved to PC. Since then, I've been happy with TES on PC, so I'm sticking to it for Skyrim.

My computer will only be a year old when Skyrim comes out. It should be more than up to the task of running it. The only thing I have any real plans to upgrade between now and then is my monitor.

The only component of my computer I don't think will be up to par is my ATI Radeon 5670 HD 1GB Graphic card.
Do you guys think that'll be able to run the game with a decent draw distance?

CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650 3GHz
Video Card: ASUS EAH4870 DK TOP 512MB (Radeon 4870, 9% faster version but with less memory)
Memory: 6 Gb DDR2 1066 MHz
Power supply: Zalman 750 Watt
Hard drives: 2 x Seagate Barracuda 7200.1x series 500GB 7200rpm SATA
Sound card: Sound Blaster Audigy 4
"Speakers": Sennheiser HD-555 headphones
Display: BenQ 24" 1080p LCD

I'm possibly going to upgrade my video card to Radeon 6950 or 6970 before Skyrim's release. The current videocard still runs everything nicely though.

Oho, surprising to see more ATI users than Nvidia users. Are there many still holding on to their awesome 5800 series cards?

CPU: Intel Core i5 750 @ 3.8GHz
GPU: Radeon HD5850 @ between 850-900 core and 1200-1250 memory
RAM: 4GB of DDR3 Corsair brand (XMS3 I think) @ 1560MHz

That's all that really matters, standard HDD and such. If I have to I can support a second card, but I doubt I'll need it. I will have to pick up a new soundcard though, my old one is fried I think. And headphones. And maybe a keyboard and mouse, mine are falling apart.

CPU: Core i7 2600k 5.8 GHZ (liquid cooled)

GPU: Quad-Sli Nvidia GeForce GTX 590 (3GB a piece, so 12GB at DDR5 ) all with coolIT onmis( otherwise at there current clock they'd be on fire) :flamethrower:

RAM: 16 GB Kingston 1600 MHZ DDR3

I want to play it on PC but im gonna have to upgrade. I will probably end up getting the PS3 version and then i will probably have enough cash to upgrade in time for the GOTY edition on PC.

This is a good plan. A vanilla run through on the PS3 will last you a long time. Just get the PC version when you're tired of it and need mods.

I'm just getting it on PC from release because I already have a PC that runs fine and I technically sold the Xbox to my brother. And all the little quick fix UI mods that'll be released early on will improve the game without changing it.

Dude is that i5 lynnfield? If it is holy [censored] that's come crazy oc-ing you got going on there. I'm tempted to see what I could do with mine

My Rig:
CPU: Intel Core i5-750 2.7 GHz
RAM: 8GB Samsung DDR3
GPU: ATi Radeon 5830 1GB Max OC
PSU: Antec BP550
Display: 23" Gateway FHX2300 1080p LCD

Not the greatest machine but it blows a console out of the water at least.

I want to play Skyrim on my computer but I think my card is holding me back so I might be playing it on the PS3 for the moment until I can get a new card.

I'm quite damn sure I'll be able to max out my settings on skyrim and drop a ton of mods on top of it.. as long as they give me quad-core support and 64-bit support...

Currently running:

Processor: i7-2600 (3,4 ghz)
Graphics Card: GTX 580
Memory: 2x4 GB GeIL DDR3 @ 1333 mhz
Harddisks: OCZ - 128 gb SSD + western digital 2 tb HDD
Motherboard: MSI P67A-GD65
Case: Cooler Master CM 690 II Advanced
Cooling: Arctic-Cooling Freezer 7 Pro rev. 2 + a lot of fans
Power Supply: Corsair CMPSU-850HX
Windows 7 home premium 64-bit
Some 24-inch full-HD screen from samsung, great quality

I'll be using my pretty recent laptop:

CPU: Intel Core i5 M460, 4 GPUs @ 2,53 GHz

RAM: 4096 MB

GPU: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650

Screen is around 17 inches. My guess is I'm going to beable to run it around medium settings
