I will be playing the PS3 version, I already have my PS3 and am happy with it, and although I'm using a PS3, PS3s use NVIDIA.

Switching up to an alienware m14x (I'd prefer a m13 if they have em by then) from an m11x. I just need the extra space and screen capacity.

You should add a "I don't know" option under the "Are you buying new hardware to play Skyrim on?" question... for well, obvious reasons - we don't know the system requirements yet so we therefore can't really know if we're gonna buy a new PC or not yet.

Hopefully, I'll be running it on my current hardware

2.66 Core 2 Duo
4 GB RAM
Win XP SP3 32bit
ATI HD 2600 XT / 256mb

If the min requirements are too high..... we'll burn that bridge when we cross it.

AMD Phenom II x4 810
4 GB DDR3 at 1300mhz
Vista 64bit (ugh... wish I had 7)
ATI Radeon HD 4870 1 GB

Can easily run Oblivion with enhanced visuals mods at 2560x1600 so I should be able to run Skyrim on close to max settings.

You should've seen one of the other threads around here a while ago. Someone posted something along the lines of "building a server", to put it simply. Don't recall any specifics.

My rig:
AMD Phenom II x6 1090T @ 3.2 GHz
Nvidia GeForce GTX 465 (don't remember anything else)
16 GB RAM
Win7 64-bit
1680 x 1050 NatRes
