What has brought you to get Brink

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 1:07 am

So I was wondering everyone, what has brought you to get Brink? Either its S.M.A.R.T system, endlesss character customization, huge list of weapons that can be customized, interesting story, multiplayer an single player blend, or any other thing. Just wanting to see what has brought this awesome community of gamers together to this awesome game. Me personally It's kinda a mix of all of the above but I have to say the character customization really has me loving it allot too xD

I just though it looked pretty frickin' awesome in just about every aspect. Most of all it would be the character customization and the story though.

Customization for sure. I probably wouldn't be half as stoked if it wasn't for that. The art/design, ie. art style/packaging/UI/etc. was the other one, nice to see a game looking totally different.

Yeah a few who got to play the demo during the PAX event (who were some hardcoe gamers) they couldn't tell the bots from the real players

I am looking forward to it all, you can't want Brink for 1 aspect its a package deal

The idea of a game being built that looks to truly motivate the players to focus on teamwork and objectives over lonewolf kills/kill streaks has been the main draw for me.

The Brink Theme....

Everyone knows what theme im on about - At the end of every video that little "music chime "Bleem bleem bleem"

It made me tickle inside in a way that my soul knew that a company had actually hit the spot on what we as the community have been looking for in a FPS game, For a very..very long time.

if i had to rank them then....

1-the customization (player and guns)
2-the fact that its team oriented (b/c if you have no1 working with you you are usually dead meat in online fps's)
3-the smart system
4-being a graduate of animation/modeling i LOVE the art style they used as I go for more of the fantasy/fiction type
5-jus look at the thing lol

The SMART system would be the bananas, the originality and the balls to do something new would be the ice cream, and the customization is the cherry on top.

I first heard about it as "Mirror's Edge with epic gunplay"

The more I've heard, the more I want it. BADLY.

The S.M.A.R.T system really got me hooked, I've never payed much attention to movement restrictions in many FPS games before but when I seen the Freedom of Movement trailer I fell in love with Brink. Of course the Character and weapon customization is a key point aswell, for many of the best games i've played - and continue to play, most have some level of customization since everyone wants their own unique style. Im also one for a good storyline and Brinks seems like its going to be awesome.

It's great to see everyone sharing why they got hooked, honestly I'm glad to see such a good community on here. I just hope on LIVE the community for Brink will be just as great.

over the top gameplay like COD with lots of customization but without actually having to play COD with its mechanics. I went back and dusted off an old copy of world at war a couple days back to get the veteran mode achiev's out of boredom... I can't believe I ever found those games worth the money let alone fun.

  • First Person Shooters need innovation.
  • The COD formula is tired and dated.
  • Brink looks like a new, fresh take on FPS.

In an industry where risk through innovation more often tanks than becomes wildly popular, and the safe bet remains with empty sequels; Brink is the proverbial much-welcomed, emerging ray of sunlight.

To be honest, it's the SMART system and customization. I play lots of shooters, mostly Battlefield and COD. I've always hated how in most shooters, your soldier always feels so restricted by the environment, and SMART is the perfect solution to that.

I agree, even if not many people buy into Brink at first then they will hopefully see how superior it is in almost every aspect to many of the current top FPS'. My guess is that Brinks popularity will have a snowball effect - gradually getting larger and larger as time goes on, with Brink on the market then CoD will be near enough forgotten.

Just about everything the OP mentioned is what got me interested in Brink.
The whole package just looks like a winner in my eyes.

I'd been sitting around playing World of Warcraft of all things, bored out of my mind, looking for another great game to play.
I can't even tell you how many discussions Ive had about what I'd like to see in a new FPS/MMO and what development teams do wrong that ends up ruining their game.

Although there may be a few tiny things I think could be added/changed, I'm really looking forward to getting my hands on this game.

I'm getting it because It's a nice break from the traditional military shooters.

The customization aspect is nice too. I'm a svcker for tons of customization.
