After taking six characters to level thirty, I JUST discovered that the terminals that explode are actually rigged up as traps. I always just thought they were broken. :D

My biggest discovery was the wired toilet. You can get quite a shock or you can disarm them for ammo. Previously, I had just ignored them.

That giant albino rad scorpions fly when shot point blank with the drone cannon, seriously. i shot one and when the energy ball bounced it went under the scorp and took it into the air, it was chasing me but looked like it was flying in the air, and didnt drop until i eventualy got bored and killed it. this has happened several times i have also tried it on giant rad scorpions and rad scorpions but it doesnt work!! a bug maybe?

I was irritated to find out that once you decide to put facial hair on your character you can never go back to being clean-shaven. Screw that.
A good thing I found out was that it is indeed possible to disarm the Baby Carriage bomb - you need to have an Explosives score of 65 or so to try, though.

You can be hairless again. Just click on the facial hair name you've chosen and it'll toggle it off.

I have learned so much about this game just by reading this thread. I am looking forward to going through it again and noticing things I didn't in the first time through. I have only gone through the game once with about 65 hours of game play including broken steel dlc.

I finally did the GNR quest in the proper order and got to "help" Lyon's Pride fight off the mutants. That was a lot of fun! I wish there were more instances like that in FO3... For a brief moment, I actually felt like my character mattered in the game-world. :\

I've just discovered that if you wear the ghoul mask in the Red Racer Factory, the Surgeon (the mad scientist that implants exploding chips into the heads of Super Mutants and ghouls) will be non-hostile to you, just as if he were a ghoul, despite the fact that he is a normal human.
He has nothing to say to you, though, other than: "I don't have time for any of your bull[insert word here for excrement that the ridiculous profanity filter removes]."

I learned a lot reading this thread. But the one annoying thing I didn't discover until way late in the game was that pressing and holding "R" holsters your weapon and frees up your view.

I just found two buildings with doors on the second story joined by a semi-collapsed walkway, on the eastern bank of the river opposite Granma Sparkle's place. I haven't found a way into the buildings though...it's really got me irritated because there has to be something reaaaaaaally worthwhile in there...I just know it.....

lol, I actually did that quest after learning about that... still much better to do it the old fashioned way or you die REAL quick if you're not careful.

That's because he's becoming a ghoul himself, If you kill him and take his unique Vault Scientist Jacket he has scarring and flakey skin on his legs and uper arms.

thanks for this topic guys, i have missed so much, but i recently found that if you explore the depths of the river, and lakes or ponds, granted they are far and in between, there are things down there like weapons, ammo, med packs, and that is how i found the underwater opening on the back of rivit city, and there are sunken ships with stuff too. and also i was hiding in the dark from a goul, and set and watched two of them for a min, i think they have terrets or something, every so often they freak and start chewing on their arm, it was to funny. someone needs to start an easter egg thread, i think it would be a trip to find what funny stuff they hid in this game.

There's a Molerat racetrack??
On topic, I'm always learning new things with Fallout by reading these posts! Like right now!
Yes as you leave the Nuca Cola plant, turn left and follow the road for some distance. As the road curves to the right, you will see a little diner on the left (grab the big guns book). Follow the road and before you approach same, go back and load, take a stealth boy, or if you have the Chinese stealth suit, sneak over and watch the race. It's on the road in front of you. You can also sneak up on the side and watch the race too. After that, remember to stop at he Talon camp on the left side of the road in a building and pick up three sets of armor and a lock pick book. Take the over pass and go back into Gray ditch if you want.

i just found out there no gambling in fallout :(

Ah! I wouldn't be so sure. I'm on 100 hours and recently found raiders racing MoleRats. I'll get it on YouTube and link it in a few days. So there is 'reference' to gambling but not something the Character can do.

If you save and load in the vicinity of the dead Chinese Commando (Chinese Radio Beacon) the dead Commando will come back to life and try to kill you. He's a ghoul, naturally.
