From UESP (http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Ehlnofey):

The progenitors of the Aldmer and various human races. The diverse people of Tamriel become the Mer (Elves): The Dwemer (Deep Ones), the Chimer (Changed Ones), the Bosmer (Green or Forest Ones), and the Altmer (Elder or High Ones). The fracturing of the Aldmer along cultural and racial lines is the Sundering of Aldmeris, and the continent no longer exists. The other Ehlnofey became the beasts, and the humans of Nirn, who will eventually split into racial groups, including the Nedes, Nords, Tamriellic Aboriginals, as well as the Redguards of Yokuda, and the Tsaesci of Akavir.

So since Tsaesci descend from the same Ehlnofey that humans and mer do, it would be weird if they looked like that. And, how can you imagine that kind of snake to rule Tamriel for a few hundred years? I think that Tsaesci might be much more human-like than we think, and them being snakes is just metaphoric or something

EDIT: But, actually, that depiction of Tsaesci could easily be mataphoric as well... So I don't know. Anyway, this game is most likely not about Tsaesci, it's about the dragons. So I think it's not one of them

Its a symbolic representation of Akatosh/Alduin, the Dragon (i.e. serpent) God of Time.

It's a snake, a symbolic representation of a dragon.

I'm willing to bet it's a dragon, since I'm pretty sure the picture is of one the Dragonborn.

It's a shrine of Talos actually.

I really thought that the Akaviri invading a divided Tamriel and the collapsing Empire would be a much more interesting setting for TES5 than "dragons!", but anyway. What we see in the picture is in my opinion either an artistic interpretation ment to symbolise how badass Tiber Septim was or some serpent-like creature. The Tsaesci are definately humanoids since their weaponry and armors can be used by men and mer.

By the way, I've always thought it was pretty weird that we have seen no visual representation of the Akaviri in any game, given how important they are in the lore. Hell, the Second Empire was actually ruled by one for a time (http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Akaviri_Potentate), there should be statues, paintings and the like at the very least.

Nooo definitely NOT Tsaesci. Tsaesci are snake-men, they have a human upperbody and snake tail. That creature has a snake head and body, probably a dragon of some kind.

That is possible. It would be kind of cool to have basilisks in the game.

By the way, your signature is great!

The creature is reptilian but doesn't match the description we have of TES lore or what we've seen of dragons in previous games. Akatosh most likely looks like his avatar at the end of Oblivion though is described as having wings and golden scales in the book King Edward.

I agree with the consensus on here, it's most likely a new creature or something fabricated and mostly just for looks. The man is Talos which I doubt would be stepping on one of his fellow Nine Divines ;)

Just a statue about an event that happened in the past... But the creature might be revealed in the game...

I hope its a snake and I hope its in the game. I've always wanted to see a giant snake implemented correctly and believably in a game. Makes me think of that Conan painting where Conan is chained up and the giant snake is hovering above him.

This! Is! SKYRIM! In this case Talos stepping on Alduin (as Nords don't worship Akatosh as Akatosh) makes perfect sense (ie. Talos defeating the evil, world-threatening dragon) ;)

Uh, looks like a snake.

The Serpent is a figure in ES mythology, albeit a rather nebulous one.

I don't see why it would be weird. But I agree, I'm almost certain that isn't Tsaesci. I think it's symbolic of dragons. (Symbolic, not an actual, accurate representation of one.)

My personal idea is they are human like, but years of dining on snakes and dragons has morphed them into something more snake.

By that logic, shouldn't I be a cow by now?

Of course this is a depiction of a statue in the game. I think it's supposed to be an artistic rendition of an actual dragon by a sculptor who lived in Skyrim. The dragon would be depicted as weak and despicable in order to amplify the Dragonborn's greatness.

What, don't you people study art?
