What kind of dog do you want?

Post » Sun Jan 02, 2011 12:11 pm

I think dog breeds are a great idea, adds more customization, enriching the game. Personally I would really really like to see the Swiss Mountain Dog cause it looks like my dog Dewey, or a Beagle/Coonhound mix, cause I believe that is what he actually is. And i also really hope to see puppies and other baby animals, especially for horses and mammoths and wolves, I think they should emphasize showing realism in nature, it would be beautiful. I think cats and mice should be included as well, it would be cool to see the dog chase a cat, and a cat chase a bird or mouse.

Irish Wolfhound. Because a dog that size would actually help taking on a dragon :P

We'd need a dog armour DLC too, of course.

Seeing how the game (Based on the new trailer, and Bethesda's word) I think it'd be great to introduce Dog Companions. At least now they look real, and it would be cool taking one out for a hunt. Bear with me here, and hear a young man's dream for a Video Game like this... You live in a shack or cabin in the woods. Your food supply is steadily declining, so you make preperations to go hunting with your four-legged friend. You grab nothing but a small knife, your bow, and a dozen arrows, to hunt deer. You'd injure it, and your dog would attack the prey that lay on the ground, finishing it off.

Now, I'm cool with your dog dying, so long as you have a bunch to choose from, and they don't die easily. Oh, and can run from Lanky Trolls. Hopefully which we won't run into every 2 minutes, like Oblivion's Ogres.

I'd prefer a woolly mammoth companion.

It's probably more likely you'd hit it and it bolts for a mile off into the woods before it lays itself down. you might not find it, but the tracking senses of the dog wouldn't miss it.

Because they're just big ol' bears and I love them so much...... and they could tear the spine out of a cow.

or cerberus.

Yeah it would be most suited to those who pursue the darker side to majikz.

Would it be Beautifull if the dog caught the cat and Decided tossing it round breaking its neck and the skin on its back?

Yes, Poodle.

But a toy poodle would be great... My dog was a toy poodle...

My first choice would be an Irish Wolfhound, they're huge and awesome and I can see them being useful in combat...

Failing that either a husky or german shepard would be cool.

Irish Wolfhound. Shaggy coat for the cold weather, and they're known for their gentle dispositions and would make great guardians for the Nords kids (and anyone else who wanted one of course). New name for Skyrim?

Umm, Wolfhound?

What would a poodle be doing in Skyrim? Or TES in general? I don't really want any Earth creatures in Skyrim. Oblivion got too... Earthlike for me.

Cats are my favorite pet, but I voted Akita because they're just so darn cute! ;) And they are extremely loyal, highly intelligent dogs, that would make for excellent companions and protectors. If I had a dog, I would love to have an Akita! :hugs:

Also, they could call the Irish Wolfhound a Nordic Wolfhound.

=D

How could you not like a huge, strong wolf hunting dog? (with scruffy shaggy fur! )

I loved how earth-like Oblivion was, but I have to agree on the first point you made--a poodle? What purpose would it serve? That would just be weird... But, to each his own, I guess...
