I picked Akita. I had an Akita years ago, most loyal dog i've ever had. There's a reason why Japan made them it's National Treasure. They're also very closely related to Wolves.
I once owned a Half Gray Wolf/Siberian Husky before as well. She looked full Wolf, but was very gentle around kids/family. Towards intruders/threats though, she was lethal.
Either of the two would fit in very well with a scene like Skyrim.

I voted fantasy dog but I own a Weiner Dog, or real name Dachshund which would be awesome! Fun fact: Dachshunds are the only dog in the world that can hunt above and below ground.
