since this is a fantasy game they should have some types of dogs not of are world, but with some similarities so we can relate.

I'd like a little chihuahua that I can carry around in my mage's robe and take shopping with me. It would be so cute.

I′m glad I′m rolling an evil character this time around, because I′m going to hunt down every single dog or wolf in the entire game until I have driven them to extinction. Dragons you say ? Well eff them, I have important business to take care of!

Maybe it′s just cos I′ve got a phobia of dogs (and probably wolves too) IRL but I really, really, really hate dogs, more than any other creature I′ve touched/held (and that includes snakes, big spiders, and... and... well okay I′ve not touched too many dangerous creatures in my life (unless you count mentally unstable homo sapien sapien who attack you "creatures") but nothing gives me a scare like them durned dogs, even the small puppy types :S)

This thread needs more cat love, some of the specific "dog" breeds are beating the only option for cats that includes all cats I′d guess... D:

Rottweiler, because they are a great attack dog to take into battle, (incredibly stong jaws and body power) One of the smartest Breeds, (even if mine acts like a [censored] 90% of the time) Gentle giants when they wish to be, They will defend you to the death, and they look great in the snow!
I have a project going at the moment I'm making a fantasy world and I have 3 dog races, One is the Gnolls (Wolfmen) and then there's The Rottica (need I say explain) The Gnolls are clans of barbaric packs who are fairly primitive. And the Rottica are an Honorable Warrior Race who never ambush or attack from behind. They live in a City under the Dollag Mountains and are know for the high Quality Steel Armor and weaponry matching the steel work of even Dwarves but not the crafting of other more precious and prestigious metals. There are also a small Tribe of cross breeds hidden in the peaks of the Dollag mountains But the cross breading of the 2 was made impossible by a curse by St. Bensith after he was ambushed by them. He Said "Their Lack of Morals And Their Intelligence Makes Them A very Dangerous Race."
By Azura! I Don't Half Get Carried Away, I'll stop now :P

But Yeah the only thing the Fable series had going for it was the Doggy companions.

Also the wolf type dogs Husky/Malamutes would be cool and fit Skyrim Perfectly

The whole dog idea is more specific to Fable, I think. It would be cool, so long as it's not too similar as in Fable. Having a Husky or Alaskan Malamute would be sick, but honestly, I'd rather have a bear or a straight up wolf as a companion.

The one in the GI picture looked like an Irish Wolfhound, which I strongly approve of.

Definitely.

I would like a husky, just because they are my favourite kind of dog, and they suit the cold weather.

Is that because it can't bark?

That's only one tiny benefit, but it does enter into the equation. More along the lines of diversion...enemy hears...something, thinks I'm taunting them- well, they're half-right. They're being taunted, but I'm not the one doing it. Then while they're looking the wrong way...mace to the head. :D

Siberian Husky. i own one, and she is a freaking hunter. i live in the woods, and anytime she see's some kind of rodent or deer, she tries her hardest to get out and chase after them. she's even torn up our rock wall for a lizard. very smart though. and very very friendly. never forgets a face.

if not that, i'd say a Leonberger (if you don't know this dog, look it up. pretty awesome)

also, i feel like we should have multiple options for this poll
